Right now I am shooting a longbow 58@ 28 my draw length is shorter than that can shoot 2018 cut 29 1/4 with 145 points 2016's with a 150 grain snuffer fly like darts. Question is what shaft spine do you think would work best? also thinking about going to a 2 blade zwickey delta or maybe the 4 blade. Any opinions on these set ups would be appreciated....
I switched to laminated birch last year (shooting a 55 @ 28" Toleke recurve) and couldn't be happier. I'm shooting 65-70 spine cut to about 28.5" BOP. They are HEAVY and shoot like darts.... can't remember how much they weigh with 145 heads but its heavy and make my bow deadly quiet. I'm about to start experimenting with some of the Safari shafts from Alaska bowhunting but, I will hunt with the lam. birch this year. Some say they are hard to straighten but I haven't found that to be the case. Try them, you might like 'em.
For a straight-limbed bow I'd suggest starting with 65-70, for R/D 75-80. Much depends on string type and what's hanging on it.
