Title: Preferred Quiver/Kids bow recommendations
Post by: canoeman on September 09, 2009, 12:01:00 PM
What quivers do you guys/gals prefer?  There looks to be alot of options, but I will only have one for now.  I'm just getting started and want something I will be able to hunt with when the time comes.  Some of my hunting will be out of a tree stand.  I would prefer something that's not too terribly expensive as I'm also saving up to purchase a bow for my kids to start with.  Any recommendations for a starter bow for a 8-10 year old would be appreciated as well.

Joseph,
You never really said if you wanted the quiver attached to your bow or a back or side quiver.  There are alot out there to choose from.  I personnal prefer my quiver strapped to my bow when deer hunting and I like the Great Northern quivers.  For me it is easier to get at and I know right where it is and it isn't in the way if I am carrying a pack or climber stand.  A side quiver is what I carry when stumping or chasing small game.  If you are looking to save some money, then check the classifieds section, as there are alot of good quivers available for a good price.
As far as the kids bow, if you want to buy a nice wood bow then I highly recommend you give Mike a call at Madddog Archery.  He is a sponsor here and a great guy that builds super nice kid bows (longbows and recurves) at a very affordable price.
If you are just looking for something to get your child shooting, then I have a fiberglass kid's bow that would make a good starter bow, that I would be willing to offer up.  Just PM me if interested.
