My buddy Brad and I have been hunting together since about 1980. He has always been a gadget master! I am easing him into traditional. I made him a bamboo backed ipe bow last year that blew up recently. He decided it was time for a new bow. We put our heads together to find the perfect wood combos. The results are stunning, to me at least! :) She has a wenge and bubinga riser, action-boo cores, and bubinga limb faces. I used buffalo horn for the overlays. She is 62" NTN and draws 45@28. She is cut to center, and a really good shooter.

Thanks for the kind words! I had to add one I took in the light of the rising sun. That wenge is awesome, especially since I learned how to level the pores!

Your finish work is very, very good. It takes some time to get to that level, I'm not there myself and can appreciate the work involved.

Wow Marty, you out did yourself on that one, excellent job, very tasteful!!!!

Are you going to share the sectret of filling wenge for those of us less fortunate?

I used thin, dime store CA. I rubbed the first coat on and then let it soak in/dry. You can see where it needs more, so go ahead and repeat without sanding. After 3 or 4 applications, you are just adding drops on individual pores. After several coats are dry, sand it just enough to blend in all the coats of CA. I tried not to take it to bare wood. I use 220, because that is always my final grit when spraying Fullerplast. After sanding the first time, you may have to touch up a spot or two. I started spraying after that. As when spraying any riser, a small amount of sanding was required between coats to finish the leveling. I was able to do this in one afternoon. Lot's better than the weeks it took last time, and a much better result.

I like your attention to detail.

Man that Fullerplast is amazing!
I'd say we can elevate you bow jedi master level now.
How about smearing smoothon and sanding. It seems like it would fill faster.

Thanks for sharing Apex. I remember you saying that this was possibly your best bow ever over on the bowyers bench. It is beautiful work.
