Does anyone have any info on Martin "Snuffer" broadheads? I received some in a trade. The plastic container they came in has Martin #1073 "Snuffer" 3-blade, 1 5/16" cut, .045 blade thickness, 145 grains on it. It also has an address in Walla Walla, WA, where Martin Archery is located. They look exactly like the Magnus Snuffer broadhead and have a Rockwell hardness of 44C. Any Information would be appreciated.
Same head just sold by Martin.
How long ago? There not listed on Martin's website.
Early 90's I believe.
At least I think that's when they started. Not sure when Magnus took it over.
I traded a bow 4 a whole case of them 10+trs ago and still shooting them. Can't remember the company name that built them before Magnus bought them but the quailty wasn't the greatest.I have yet to find a bad one in my bunch.
After Roger, Delta products owned the Snuffer and was responsible for some custom packaging.
Eventually Mike Sohm at Magnus came to manufacture the Snuffer line for Delta.
When the time came that that broadhead line was for sale, Mike Sohm bought it.
I was very closely associated with Magnus during that time frame.
Purty good investment by Mike, don't ya think
I'm sure he has done well with it. He wanted to own it for a long time before it was available.
Roger's original tooling for putting together the Snuffer's was/is very simple.
Mike does pretty well with his Stingers too. :)
I always thought this was an interesting interview of Ryan Rothhaar. It has some Snuffer history in it. http://www.africanarcher.com/snuffer.html
