I bought one the first year they came out, no problems to report,  I use it a lot for bow hunting.

Have one and love it.  It works especially nice for me here in Florida, as it works on smaller base trees.  I hunt a lot of pines that most treestands could not adjust to.

I had a Summit viper and switched to the Equalizer. It is better. I love the equalize function and the lock down strap system. Excellent Stand.

If I were to buy another tree stand, I would get the Equalizer.  You can even lock it to the tree using an optional lock.  There is a bar up front to keep you within your limits.  The seat even goes close to the tree for a leaning position.  It really does not cost much more than other stands.  It gets my vote hands down!

Okay, I went and bought one in case I get tired of the Tree Saddle this year.  It is difficult to find the time to get on private land and actually get permission to use screw in steps.  They are disallowed in Ohio.  If this post is still around in a week or so, I will post my actual usage opinions.
