Title: BH's good, FT's bad?
Post by: Robert Honaker on September 02, 2009, 11:17:00 PM
Hmmm..why do my broadheads fly great, like a lazer, but my feild tips wobble and fishtail?
I don't get it, and they group together too.

You are borderline spine with your arrows, either on the stiff  or limber side.  If your field tips are going goofy, you need to retune and get your spine correct.  By the way...you don't tell us anything about arrows, broadheads or field tips....weight, length, et al.

Sorry bout that...30.5in 4000 Vapors, 170gr 2 blade magnus/175gr FT's with 50gr brass shaft inserts, three 5in feathers outta the bow in my signature.
I figured since the two are grouping together my tuning was on. I'm horrible with bareshafting so I use the BH/FT method.
I wouldn't worry since I'm very hapy with my BH flight, season opens in a few days, but it would be nice to shoot FT's in the off season so I don't mess up my targets so bad.
I have tried trimming a little and also a longer shaft, heavier and lighter tips..no dice.

Try moving your nock height, that can make a big difference with the flight of your arrow.
