Title: keeping feathers dry
Post by: longrange on September 02, 2009, 10:40:00 AM
I was curious if anyboby tried using silicon dry fly floatant on arrow feathers? Would it help keep them dry or would the feathers be to thick for it to work? Has anybody here tried this already?

Duck oil, fly tyers supply, works great! Or another thing you can do is fletch a couple tuned arrows with a little larger feathers, or goose feathers. If they get wet, they will still have enough to steer the arrow. Good shootin, Steve

No snow. I treat them in August, and hunt them all season long. No scent, and really repels water.
