They look the same as the Woodsmans. Same size & weight. Same little wings at base.
I like the 1 1/4 width.RC
Which ones are 1 1/4"? All I find is 1 1/8".
Are they a solid one piece or is the screw in adaptor glued in?
Also how sharp are they from the pack? Do they take much work to get up to razor sharp?
QuoteDo they take much work to get up to razor sharp?
Need just a little touch up. I hit mine with a fine diamond stone and stropped....just a few minutes on each head and they're scary sharp! Heck of a head these guys have!
You also misspelled "penetration" in the ad.
Looks like the old Bodkin head, just a bit longer.
You could hunt with them right out of the pack, Not shaving sharp but sharp. I did take one head over a diamond stone 5 strokes per side and they were popping hair and skin at that point. They spin perfect and are very tough. I shot and hit flat rock on a hillside, it went about 50' almost straight up and 50' down range, feathers all over the ground. BH showed no damage at all, It spun perfect and not bent at all. IMHO this is the perfect 3 blade Broadhead. We may offer it in Stainless Steel later.
teflon coated or just black paint?
How long are they? I see you can get them in 1 1/4" or 1 1/8"....?
I've have used a wire edge on heads that work great on game and sure wouldn't try to shave with it. They have a Teflon coating.and are 2.5" long. 50 Rockwell.
Those be WWs??
These are the VPA Terminator broadhead...not the other!!
No offense, Bob. Thanks for qualifying the statement.
So these are not the same as the non-vented woodsmans that 3 rivers is offering?
Didn't Wensel invent the 3 blade broadhead???(LOL)
WW..."Often imitated but never duplicated"
If Bob Morrison, Jim Belcher, and Bill Dunn are selling them that is good enough for me! Their not made in China are they :bigsmyl:
These are made in Fort Wayne, Indiana for those with inquiring minds!!
The screw ons have the machined adapter...they are not a glue on after the fact. The glue ons accept the standard adapter and you can play with the weights...160's and 190's can range from their base weight all the way to 315gr. How's that for some heavy foc!!
do they fly close to a field point?
This is what I've been looking for.
I'm a Snuffer man to the bone. But I think I'll be giving these a try.
Many or Bob,
Is there a lifetime warranty on these heads like the Woodsmen and Snuffers? They look excellent.
How did you decide on 50 Rockwell?
Which weight is 1.25"?
Me likes!!!!!!!!!!! :goldtooth:
There is also a 1 1/8" 250 Grain screw in. Warrantee will be up to what ever the manufacture feels is right. We are just dealers selling the VPA Terminator broadhead.
looks like 3R is private labeling these..??
wish they would make a screw in 2 blade in 250!
Actually Dave, they do not have the private label on these as the manufacturer has allowed us to sell them too under the VPA Terminator brand...same broadhead, different name.
...lower price!
Does anyone have the 160 glue-ons in stock?
I'm usually a two blade man...but these gotta be worth a try !
Lots of different heads out there that look like other heads. Buy what you want, and go hunting!
:archer:
Are all the models available for ordering now?
manyletters.. Thanks.. looks like a heck of a deal !!! and a great head
We will have ready to ship next Thursday the 160 and 190 Glue on VPA Terminator BH. The following week we will have the 175,200,250. We had several of the 250 in stock, they are all gone.

Bill
I just updated the pics for the glue on...the other one was an old picture!!
I did get an order in today. All I have left is a 3pk of 160 Glue on.
Bob, I'll take them. Please email me with the total including shipping and I'll get payment out to you in the morning. Fred
Just when I thought the perfect head couldnt get any better! Those thing look awesome!
I've been shooting the prototypes(Elite size) and the final product of the 160 glue-on for about 2 months now.....
They are absolutely silent in flight!
So if I understand correctly, these are the very same broadhead as the new 3R woodsman, made by the very same company for both 3R and VPA only VPA is selling them for $5.00 cheaper and without the lifetime warranty? Is that correct, or are there other diffences in the two heads?
The VPA Terminator looks more like the 300 Xtreem than a WW. Take a look, heavy weight, What everyone was wanting more weight more choices than just 300 gr.It has solid blades, it is one solid piece threaded to fit arrow inserts. Tanto tip which you can called somthing different its still a tanto tip. The 300 Xtreem has been for sales for over the last 2 years. (http://morrisonarchery.com/assets/images/BH300-Xstreem-proto.jpg)
Lefty, VPA is the company that makes the solid broadhead...if I am correct, the WW vented is made by someone else.
Here are some pics to look at for comparison, first the VPA terminator
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/manyletters/VPA-Screw-on.jpg)
And second, the 300 Xtreme
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/manyletters/3blade.jpg)
Same basic design but the VPA comes in a variety of weights...the design is pretty much the same just made out of different materials.
Regarding the warranty...it would be addressed on a case by case basis, etc. by VPA!!
Excellent! Thanks for the reply Bob and Many! It looks like exactly what alot of folks, myself included have been looking for.
Alright ...who stole my Solidworks designs ? !
I need some of the 200 grain screw-ins for an elk hunt in 2 weeks. Anybody got them in stock yet?
Hooked-Contact Bob Morrison, he said he was hoping he would have them by the first of next week.
Nice looking heads.......are they made in the USA ?........Hink
They are if you consider Indiana part of USA. ;)
The 160 and 190 grain glue ons will be here next week. The screw on heads (175 200 250) will follow the week after.
Bill
Can't wait to try these. Look's like someone was listening to what a lot of guys were talking about on here recently. Long, mean, non-vented, and in a variety of sizes. 3:1 ratio? Howard Hill would be proud:^) Here's to good old American ingenuity!!
Can anyone tell us which ones are the 1 1/4" and which ones are the 1 1/8"? And for the record, the WW are only 1" cut according to their page. So these ARE NOT the same bh.
The 250 grain screw in broadhead is the only one available in the 1 1/4",they are also available as 1 1/8".All the other vpa terminators are only available in 1 1/8".
Bill
The 250 screw in come in 1 1/8" and 1 1/4". No glue on 1 1/4"yet.
Ohhhh, I'm liking this!
*******Could someone please post pics like Guru did before of the different 3-blades side by side? Would love to see these, original WW, WW elite, and snuffer, all next to each other.******
These really might be the perfect head for many of us.
I just put my money where my mouth was. Should have some 190 glue-ons in plenty of time for the 1 Oct opener.
I just posted a review of the 200gr screw ins in the Product Review section. These things are everyting they are cracked up to be, and more.
Superb workmanship and a killer design.
I swear my bow grunts a little "meaner" when I shoot these.
Bob M.
I probably missed this somewhere amongst all the posts, but is the actual 300 Extreme still available? Didn't see it on your web site.
There are a few available, I don't have any. If you want any I'll have to make a couple calls. In the mean time a VPA 200 Terminator with a 100 brass insert will work. Might try to get a 300 terminator upto 300 gr????
Thanks for the info Bob. No, don't spend any time trying to track the 300 Extremes down, I don't want to find out I like them and then never be able to get them again. It doesn't sound like they are being made anymore???
Does anyone have the 190 glue ons in stock ? I would like to order a three pack and try them.
ChuckC
Chuck, I have 9 in stock.
web page (http://morrisonarchery.com/html/body_vpa_bh.html)
I just received a 3 pack of the 160's from Bob. Wicked looking head and they fly great....Can't wait to try them out on the local whitetail herd
Bob getting on your site right now. Send me three to try out.
ChuckC
Thanks a lot, guys. There went another 35 bucks when I should be working up arras with stone points.
Killdeer :banghead:
Kathy and Chuck, I pulled heads for your orders , they will go out Tuesday.
cool ! thanks. Kathy, get those stone points made and please show us some pix ! Wanna try that some year myself.
ChuckC
Now there is dedication! Working on a Sunday, on a long weekend! I figured they were not in stock and I would just have to wait a couple weeks. Another example of the over-the-top service that you get from Morrison Archery.
Thank goodness there wasn't a pretty Dakota with my specs...
Killdeer
Kathy, Just how Pretty would you like that Dakota??? Have your specs changed?? :bigsmyl:
Bob gives great service...always has...not only that, he is a great guy...I think he makes bows too!! :smileystooges:
Back, Satan! Get thee behind me!
:scared: :help:
No, you stay right out front where I can keep an eye on you!
No they haven't, it is there but underweight, need a little higher grip, it is the last one on the right and I am broke. Maybe next year, unless you take trade-ins, like Bear/Sears Flickers and such.
Killdeer :help: :help: :help: :help:
I said earlier that I'd get back with a critique after I had an opportunity to look over a couple of the new Terminators, so here goes: First, I am VERY impressed. The words SOLID and aerodynamic immediately come to mind. Plus, they are easy to sharpen (a key selling point for me)and also sharp looking:^) All I had to do was drag the heads backward a few times on my little DMT credit card size diamond hone. At that point they peeled the hair off my forearm! Mounting on my Axis N-Fused 340s produced perfect alignment; they spin like a top. I just test shot my first Terminator tipped arrow at various distances and it flew true and silent. The broadhead's tip comes beveled so curling should not be an issue. These new heads are definitely keepers. Let me see if I can post a photo.
No need to post a picture. Looks like Bob has a good one above. Besides, my heads look just like that.
I'm a fan, just ordered 6 more 160's.
Bob (or others!),
I shot clean through three deer last year with WW weighted up to 250g (47#@29" Cheyenne).
I am interested in the 250 grain heads, but wonder whether 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" would be a smarter choice at that poundage. Any thoughts?? Love the idea of the biggest hole I can put ALL the way through!
Daryl
Either one would be fine in my opinion...they are assume heads!!
OK, I'll bite. What is an "assume" head? Can I assume there will be some at K-Zoo in Jan?
I assume he meant Awesome... :D :D :D
OK... so us Canucks can't spell...I assume that one of the three guys will have them at K'zoo.
Manny, Moe or Jack?
Killdeer
No worries owlbait, Im sure they will be at K-Zoo.
Bill
Bob, I want a 3-pack of the 250 grain, 1-1/8" screw in..
Can you ship them to me as soon as you get them in ??
Pat B...
Pat, Next week I should have plenty of everything, it will be late in the week. I will have 160 and 190 glue on later this week.
Pat, Next week I should have plenty of everything, it will be late in the week. I will have 160 and 190 glue on later this week.
Pat if you need them right away.I have one extra pack of the 1 1/8" screw in.
Bill
If you would rather get them from Bob,pay him and have him call me and I will send them to you.
Bill
Bill I just got back to this thread.. If you still have them I'd like to get them. I'll send you a pm...
Thanks Bob !! If Bill has already sold the 3 he has I'll get back to you. Appreciate it .
Pat
Bob we spoke on the phone about 200 gr screw ins. Put me down for a package and I will call you in a week. Thanks.
I just recieved 6 of the 250 grain heads from Bob. They are very solid and EASY to sharpen.
Got mine in the mail today, Bob, just in time to show-and-tell at the weekly meeting of the Chagrined Again Hunting Club. Thanks! These are sleek little numbers that look like they will slide through a deer slicker'n... uh, can't think of anything that slick.
They have put me at a loss for words. :help:
Killdeer
Got 3 of the 200 grain screw ins from 3rivers.
EASY to sharpen. Had them all shaving within 20 minutes.
NEVER could do that with snuffers.
Brett
WC, I do not see them listed on the website, only the WW, did you phone order? I have two packs of the 200 screw ins on order with Bob M.
I ordered 18 of the 250 gr. from Mr. Bob. Shoud last a long time. Cant wait! I am allready pig hunting and just a couple weeks till deer season.
B.
The 200 VPA terminator is the same as the 200gr WW elite, available on the 3rivers website.
Mine look like awesome heads.
Brett
According the 3rivers website the WW elite is 1" wide, the VPA is listed here as 1 1/18 in the 200 gr screw in.
So I ask the retailers is it the SAME head or not?
The extra width, 200gr and one piece screw in was the selling point for me over the WW. Hopefully I will receive mine from Bob shortly and try them out on some piggies.
Same head just marketed as the Woodsman by 3 Rivers. The none vented Elites are 11/8 wide.
www.Woodsman.com (http://www.woodsman.com)
Thanks James, 3 rivers need to change there site, the woodsman site you linked does say 1 1/18. So the only difference is for $5 per 3 pack more you get a lifetime guarantee from 3 rivers?
I saw these heads for the first time this weekend up in Erie, PA. All I can say is WOW. I may be trying them out on some hogs next year.
Mike
They work pretty well too.Shot this freezer deer with one from with my little 40lb turkey bow this afternoon.420gn arrow tipped with the Terminator 200gn.18 step shot and he only went 40 steps. :D
(http://funhunts.homestead.com/2009no1.jpg)
Good going, James..
What kind of penetration did you get ?
Pat the arrow never slowed down.Just blew through and stuck in the dirt like it usually does from my bows. The deer hardly reacted at the shot and never knew he was dead untill he took the last nap. ;) I love it when they never leave sight after the shot.
Very nice James, congrats. How did the broadhead edge hold up?
It was still sharp enough to cut a rubber band easy.I could have used it just like it was when I pulled it out of the ground. They are good broadheads.
QuoteThe deer hardly reacted at the shot and never knew he was dead untill he took the last nap. I love it when they never leave sight after the shot.
I believe a lot of that has to do with penetration. If you can put an arrow
completely through an animal, it's been my experience the results are much more favorable as far as distance and recovery. Always felt that's why the Woodsman was tops, good penetration and a good drain hole. Got two weeks before I can give'm a run myself.....
Nice work James!
James, that is a Ruby Creek trophy where I hunt! How did you sharpen the head? Are you still shooting the Treesharks or have you switched for good? How do you compare the 2?
I shoot several heads.Running low on treesharks so am saving them for hogs and special places.I have always used the Woodsman heads too so this is just a welcome upgrade for me.For 3 blades I will stick with these but I still like the big two blades at times.Nothing drips like a hog shot with the treeshark from my weight bows. :)
Great job james...I haven't had a chance to let the air out of one yet...it has been 85F here for a week and the animals are hiding but I have a 250gr VPA Terminator razor sharp and waiting!!
Got mine while I was gone and just got to play with them. I will be needing three more 190's.
Dang, I already OWN a bunch of broadheads. These look really good.
ChuckC
Great work James and awesome shot.
Excellent job on that buck, James.
I take it those are some kind of carbon shafts to get that weight?
Love seeing light bows doing this kind of work.
thanks
Yeah I mostly use carbon Steve.I pretty much shoot wood only at 3ds that require it and hunt with carbon.
I do have some bamboo arrows made up for a selfbow I plan on hunting with some that come out about the same weight.Got a special stand in an old cottonwood tree just for it and waiting on the right wind now.Still might wind up shooting carbons however. :D
Good show James. I recieved my 250gr yest. and mounted them up on a doz Easton bowhunters this morning. They shoot great and are silent!
B.
I picked up some 200 and 250 gr from Dennis last week at camp. So far they have been easy to sharpen , spin true and fly great. {I even hit a small branch at almost 20 yards}.LOL The Muley still lives.
A 250 let the air out of a Coyote the other night , but that head is lost somewhere in a nasty thicket after whizing thru him.
With luck they will taste moose or deer in the near future.
I like them a lot.
Pete
Who has 250 gr x 1.24" in stock? I'm ready.
Kevin Dill
Kevin I'll have them Monday. There is also a 300 gr. in the works
Talking with VPA this morning and the 250 1 1/4" I have all there is for this year and they are marked as a proto type head. After fulling the orders for them I only have 3 pks. left and that is all for this year and the MSRP will be higher also. On all the VPA broadheads, Thanks ?
I went back and found the arrow burried in the dirt.It is still hunting sharp and ready for more shooting this weekend. With luck the moose will be calling.
Pete
Bob do you still have my info ? Can you send three more 190's (glue on) or do you want another order filed ?
ChuckC (Chuck Cote - DeForest WI)
Chuck, Just send me an e-mail telling me what you want and I'll add it to the order, all will ship for the same price.
Also all 250 1 1/4" are all gone now.
Can't seem to e mail you from here. I will just send in another order.
ChuckC
I broke a good bit of the tip off a 200 grain screw on this weekend. Missed my target at 25 yards and it stuck in a half rotten log. Worked it back and forth and when it came loose the top 1/6 to 1/4 inch was broken off.
I still like these heads and they're pretty easy to sharpen with a file and a diamond stone but I was surprised it broke.
