Title: non-vent WWs
Post by: J-dog on September 01, 2009, 08:52:00 AM
Who else is getting some to try? I am trying the 200 screw in jobbers ordered last night. Knowing 3rivers I will shoot them this weekend. We all raised a fuss so here they are!!
Have always loved the WW but would never use them for the whistle I couldn't get rid of, if these whistle I will finally give up (joke).

Thank go out to the 3 Rivers crew for listening and getting these out before season. You crew are awesome!

The 200's are increadible, seriously!  I know many thought the originals were tough to sharpen, I just don't see how anyone could have a problem with these elites.  I finished them out of the package with only a fine diamond stone and strop.  A few minutes for each head and they were scary.

The tips are pyramid from the manufacturer.  The width is like the originals, no vents and it's built like a tank.

I'm excited to have these on my arrows...   :clapper:

yeah they are available at 3 rivers you just have to read the description as they are not pictured yet. Except for in the "glue on" section.

I bought screw in 200s though this time - stop trying to glue in and get straight. I will have them in time to shoot them and resharpen for deer season.

They look like they are built tough! nother BHd for the collection!   :knothead:

Sure does look identical to a broadhead that JD Lund from Whisperstik bows made and posted on here last year. Although he wasn't selling them.

There pictured now. They have 175, 200 and 250 grain heads in the non vented. They look nasty

I might just have to go back to using them.

I wish they had those when I bought 6 of the 150's three weeks ago!   :banghead:

They do whistle and it bugs me. A $12 broadhead shouldn't whistle - and if it does, they should tell you that it sounds like you just shot an arrow tipped with a Peruvian panflute.

Guys,  I, and know Denny Sturgis was as well, been shooting first the proto-type, then the final product of the 160 non-vented version of the new BH for about 2 months now.

The proto-type was the size of the new Elite vented head. They wanted it to be the size of the original WW, so they thinned the blades slightly and brought it right back the the size of the originals.

Very precise, very tough, comes with a small factory pyramid tip,  and the best thing is that they are absolutely dead silent in flight!!

These are awesome guys

I think 3R has 200gr. in stock. We will not have any 175,200,250 until week after next. Belcher Bow will have 12 175 Zipper will have 12 250 Next week. But they are for hunts they are going on. You might talk them out of a couple? Git-R-Done will have 24 250 after they clear customs next week.

Yeah, I hope my 200 grains get here in time for the season, I need time to shoot them in at least a day to be sure where they smak em. I think the original WW was/is an awesome design except that the vents whistle like a flute (that was funny man) but that is no cured plain and simple. I hope they show soon!

Agree with Guru -

Think they'll ever make a lighter solid head, like 125-130 g?

I need at least 200 up front (which I got) but id they did a solid 130 they may get alot of the "need for speed" (wheelie) crowd.

I cant figure it !
I was given a dozen WW back in 1996 or 97 on a caribou hunt. The guy was a friend of a friend and had several doz given to him to try. He gave me 12 and I've never looked back. I have never EVER had a single one whistle or make any noise heading downrange (unless damaged). Maybe Im just lucky.

Just the opposite! never had one not whistle no matter how true I got them to spin?? Truly was aggravating in the end. The the elites came out - I went to try them hoping problem was solved - NOPE.

Now they do have the problem very well solved! LOL
