Well folks, this is my deer of a lifetime! Plain and simple. Most have been here, some are about to be, I made the switch and I worked at it for an entire off season to get the confidence to take to the woods with my Longbow! Honestly, I couldn't of done it with out the help of the tradgangers! I just wanted to share this with you good folks! I picked him up tonight after work and snapped a few pics. Most here know the Story line, I want to say thanks to all on here for the help and inspiration!! This one is with me forever!

Congrats Joseph! That definitely is something to remember. I am still working on mine. :clapper:
Very nice man..... Great photo's
YUP! The real deal. . .a REAL trophy! Congrats :clapper:
That is a great trophy!!! It is not about the size of the animal, rack, or book. It is about the journey and the self satifaction of doing it the "Hard way". Great Job and be proud, you worked hard to get it and am sure it taste great.
I'll never forget my first longbow buck. A nice little three pointer... But it was an awsome experience and I haven't looked back since.
Looking to take my First fall Turkey this year with a nice little recurve I got.
Nothing Better than than just a stick and string and doing it the hard way. sure is gratifying.
Congrats! Kris
Congratulations!!!!! Any deer harveted with traditional equipment is a TROPHY in my book.
Joseph, it doesn't get much better than that. To coin a TV phrase; "That's what I'm talking about"!! Great job.............
Shick

Thanks again. I'm stoked on how this mount turned out! I can't find a link to original post so here's a quick run down on the hunt! Seems like it was yesterday! :archer:
I got to the area I scouted earlier and picked out a tree. I second guessed my self and went about 20 yards up the trail and decided this was a better spot. I get my stand up all ready to go. I let the woods settle for a few and did a series of grunt and a couple doe bleats, 10 minutes nothing, I call another series. With in a minute this guys shows him self coming thru the swamp headed right down the trail I thought he would come down. He stops about 60 yards on the edge of the hardwoods and swamp. I kinda loose sight of him as he just stood there looking for some action. I take a chance after about 10 minutes of not seeing him move, I give a soft grunt, he starts rubbing on a tree then heads my way. My heart starts going crazy, he gets to around 20 yards, broadside, perfect shot, no wait, not yet he's going to come closer. When he gets to 15 yards or so he looks directly up at me, I freeze, he stares, does the bobbing thing, no worries, he looks away and comes right up the trail to about 10 yards, stops broadside and I send my arrow thru both lungs, perfect shot. He runs about 15 yards, stops, spits up blood every where and falls over dead! Awesome, awesome.... awesome hunt. I worked very hard for this deer and I'll NEVER forget it!
I'm glad you got it mounted. I killed my first recurve buck in '03. He was a little 10" 8pt. Everytime i look at his horns i regret not gettin him mounted.
Way to go....that's my goal this year. I made the switch and can't wait to go after them. Got a large one last year with my compound...now it's time to do the same with my longbow!

Me to, I told myself going in, the first deer I kill with my Longbow is going on the wall no matter what! I really think this guy is a perfect fit! I can't stop staring at him! :bigsmyl:
Good luck this year!
Great story.... It is always "heartpounding" when all goes as planned.

Thats awesome! I had a similar hunt like that in 07. Same scenario called the buck in to 10 yards with a grunt call and shot him ran 50 yards stopped then shoulder chargered a tree and flipped over dead. Im hoping ill be able to do the same with my trad bow this year. Congrats great story it got me pumped for next month :clapper:
awesome! :D
Joe,Nice buck and a great story.Congrats.
