Views from my treestand. I am in maine bear hunting and sending this from my blackberry. By chance there several tradgangers in camp. Roger and Toby from Blackwidow, Dick and Bill Langer, Big Ed is with them, Kent Zocher (spelling) from WI, Jim Pyles from JPE Traditional, my dad and me. I will try to update daily with images and text.
However this may be my last post today because I forgot to charge my phone.

Onestringer: Are you at Eldon Jandreau's or are you hunting with someone else?
Please more pictures! :knothead: With the Widow Boys!!! :notworthy:
Looks like your out of bait
Cool...
Bill, I talked to Eldon last week and he said that the Langer brothers were not hunting with him. Onestringer must be hunting with another outfitter. God bless, Scott.
Tough to re-size pics on a Blackberry. I don't know how to do it on mine.
They are hunting with my friends Tony and Lynn at Squapan Mountain Outfitters. Wish I was there with them!
The empty bait barrel is a really good sign.
Well put the pics back up to the right size!!!! LOL so I can see em - killin me as this is gonna be good.

Charge that phone and keep us posted.. Did you and your Dad drive from Missouri?? I actually bid on that hunt last Feb and was glad it went higher... I was looking forward to a "home" bear hunt.
You never know who will be in a bear hunting camp.. All the way to Maine and you have four people from southern Missouri...
Good luck to all..!

Toby was the the only to score on the first night. Roger saw a bear but it was too dark, I had one come in early but no shot.

I called Mindy and had her resize the photos so I hope this worked
sweet.... Looking forward to more

Day 2
Out in the stand again. There are actuall 10 guys from MO in camp. Jim Pyles drove in, there are 6 in that group. Dad and I flew to Bangor, Roger and Toby flew into Presque Isle.
We are hunting with Tony Boucher of Squapan Moutain Outfitters.
The guides say they have never seen the baits getting hit this hard so I am expecting a lot of action.
good luck !!!!
hope you get one!!!!

Fabulous Scott...the story please!!
I'm leaving Saturday for Eldon Jandreau's place these pic's are makeing me nuts. good job guys
I love bear stories!!
Oh Yeah!!! We need the story (on both bears)... Congrats.
How are the baits set up? What type of baits are being used and are there color phase bears?
John III
Good job
Tony does a good job and is a real stand up guy.
Another bear this morning, not a tradganger. Here is a pic of the bear pole, my bear is on the right. I am leading in the big bear contesr at 185 pounds.
I would to give more of a story but remember I am using my blackberry for all of this.
In short donuts and grease are the main bait. In camp we have 13 hunters 4 bear down and all but 3 hunters have see bear and 3 moose sightings.

Great Job! I'm leaving Sept. 11 for New Brunswick and hope to send one of your wraps through a nice bear like yours. My wife is coming along and wants to video my hunts ,so hopefully I'll be able to get some good pics. Congrats again!
GLENN
Be careful onestringer, I came away from there
weighing a few more pounds than I went in from Lynn's good cooking last year! Had sea food yet?
congrats
Congrats :clapper:
Bears are just "wild" and beautiful.. Congrats to everyone.. What is typical shot distance?
Has Larry been close on any bears yet? This follow along is cool.

Roger made a nice shot on this bear last night.
So far there have been 5 bears on the bear pole this week. The Tradgangers have accounted for 3 of those bears.
Dad had a bear come on 7 times on Wednesday but no shot opportunities.
Great job guys I'm leaving tomorrow for Eldons place I can't wait.
Oh boy story time at BW on Tuesday! Congrats everyone.
Congrats on a fine Bear :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Congrats to all!!!!!!!!!
Way to go all!!
Well-done! Good to see that Roger scored - couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke!
Its the last day of bear camp. A 19 year old kid killed a 325 boar last night, that puts tradgangers at 3 bears out of 6 bears taken.
Everyone has pulled stakes except dad and me. Dad is sticking it out until the very end.
I am out on stand again this evening. I have the privilage of taking Tony's son Josh out bear hunting.
Wish us luck, even though he is toting a 45-70 (the shells are as big as Josh) this evening he is a future tradganger in the making.
I was lucky to be involved in this hunt. We had an absolute blast. I did not hunt with bow in hand intead I filmed. I was very fortunate to have been able to film Roger Fulton on his entire Bear Hunt. These guys from Black Widow are top notch. Everyone will be totally entertained once Bill Langer edits and produces this in his next video. I hope to share camp at another time with all who were involved. Hope to have some news of Josh's hunt yet here this evening. I'll chime in later, I've got to unpack the truck. Big Ed
You have to like a guy hunting until the very last minute... Hope Larry has bears in on him tonight.
Thank you for taking us along on this bear quest.
John III
Scott, fill me in.What happened the last day? Thanks Ed
Well I am now setting in the Atlanta airport heading home.
The last night produced no bear sightings but we had fun anyway.
I did hear that Big Ed already has a group booked for next year.
Maybe I will see you there.
Now its time to start baiting bears in Arkansas.
Great follow along..
It starts thursday Oct 1st...!!
My baits are being hit during daylight...

I was also one of the fortunate fellas that was involved in this great week of bear hunting. Great Hunt, Fantastic Company, and Wonderful Hosts!! I plan on returning ASAP and hope to share camp again someday with all of the wonderful hunters and top notch guides. Cheers to all, best wishes and good hunting!!!
PS: I'll work on adding new jokes to my repertoire until then, and Scott, no more Fiber Plus bars in camp!!! LOL!!!
Sounds like you guys had a blast !!!!
Scott; Fiber Bars Bad!! Make cabin smell funny. Had a great time sharing our first camp togeather. Your bear is in my freezer. She can hibernate as long as you like.I also have booked for next year with Tony. They work hard for you and are good people. Jim Pyles
Here is a better pic of my bear. I had the big bear pot until Friday night, when a 19 year old kid killed a bear that was 3 times bigger than him.

Nice bear Scott! Thanks for keeping us updated on the hunt. I saw Toby in WalMart yesterday but couldn't talk long. Seems like everyone had a good trip.
Congrats onestringer.
Onestringer I know Wes was not traditional but could you put his bear on there also?
Thanks for sharing and congratulations to all!
Its getting that time again! Nice to see most of the Tradgang guys from last year and more are returning this fall. Good luck to all other Tradgang brothers on all hunts this season! Shoot Straight anf be safe!
Maine guide
Also good to see you on the Tradgang Tony..!
I am looking forward to my bear trip in Maine as well. See you in 2011...
John III
Should be interesting- after the mildest winter on record for Maine and will be earliest ice-outs too. Wonder if that changes the bears habits.
Joshua
I hope the mast crops will come sooner and be gone by by the end of August. This was a great winter for us! The last couple winters have been around 200 inches of snow! What a break for our deer this year. John, Looking forward to it pal!Tradganger's have been some of the best guys i've met and even guided for! I'd love to get a yearly trad event going like Tom does for Bear Quest.
Maine Guide
Great stuff guys.....boy i can't wait till I get my bows and the bears come out here...maybe I will get that griz this year.
Nice pics.....
looks like your having fun. jer
