Just a note to let folks know I will be out of town starting Wednesday, September 2 and will be back no later than Monday, September 14.
I will be in the middle of nowhere in West-Central New Mexico doing my best to bleed out an elk.
As I understand it, cell phone reception is sparse to non-existent where I'm going, and I will have no computer access at all, so don't give up on me if you don't get a quick reply. Shoot me an e-mail or leave a message on my shop phone (please state your call-back number slowly, clearly and at least twice) and I'll get back to you asap when I get back. I've had up to 400+ e-mails after being gone for a 3-day weekend, so it might take me a couple of days after I get back, but I will do my best to reply to all.
Wish me luck!
Chad
Good luck, sounds like some tip material in the making.
Good luck on your hunt, some big elk in New Mexico.
Go get em Chad ! Hope you shoot a huge 6X6 and make P & Y with him !!! Good on ya brother !!!
nocams
Your ankle must be better than the last time I saw you....
Good luck! Lookiing forward to the stories. I can't imagine any time in New Mexico during the elk rut not producing some stories.
Sounds great Chad! Enjoy your trip....you deserve a vacation. Be sure to take some photos to share when you get back! Mike
Good luck buddy!
Good luck, Chad. Whack a big one. Hope your ankle holds up well. I'm biting the bullet for a new knee next spring.
What unit are you hunting? Steve
Thanks men! My ankle is still toast--I have my good days and not-so-good days--but it's going to have to get worse to keep me from hunting! I wear my brace, and on the worst days I have some pharmacuticals to get me through. Haven't had to get the crutches out in a long time, rarely had to use a walking stick lately, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I couldn't have picked a better place to hunt if I'd had a million bucks to spend on it. No mountains, easy acess with a vehicle. Pack-out will be short. It's private land near Quemado (West Central NM), and I got really lucky getting a chance to hunt it. I have no idea what unit it is or is close to--my tag is through the property owner.
I plan to take a lot of pictures, might even post the story if I have a good one (it ain't going to be a play-by-play that takes 10 days to finish if I do--I don't have that kind of patience).
6 days and counting! (leaving Wed. afternoon)
Chad
Best of luck Chad.
:archer:
Chad,
Thanks for sending my strings out before you took off for your hunt. Good Luck !
Tom
Chad,
Got my strings last night. Perfect as usual. Have fun chasing elk.
Don't forget to take your longbow, Chad. Have a blast.
Tim

Good luck I'll be waitn for pics!
Good luck man!
Awesome Chad, good luck on bleeding out that elk. will be looking for a thread and pictures when you get back..... O' and I will need a few stings for my new bow.... :biglaugh:
Dang Chad, I was just about to order some strings. Guess I can wait... Good luck!
Good luck Chad--
SEnd me pics!!
Give 'em hell.
I plan on talking lots of pics--you never saw a Redneck grinnin' so big if I get one.
Been practicing every evening with my ASAT leafy suit on. Never really used it before, but thinking it might come in handy here, with limited cover.
Anyhow, it's a lot easier to shoot with it on (including the mask) that I imagined. I need to wear an armguard, but I've shot a lot without one. I sometimes catch one or two "leaves", which increases noise but doesn't seem to hurt arrow flight much at all.
4 days and counting!
Chad
Good luck Chad.
good luck and thanks for the bowstrings I got in the mail yesterday.
Bill
Good luck Chad. Still hope to get to Fulton soon.
Jim
I just ordered a string from ya, Mark.
Good luck. Some of the best places in the world don't have cell phone service.
Ok, just a quick note to let folks know I won't be sending any more ordes out until after I get back, after I mail out these last few. Mark, got yours finished tonight.
Stayed up until 3 a.m. one night working. I hate leaving with people waiting on me to get something done, so I do my best to get as much as I can taken care of before I go. I don't remeber the last time I worked this hard--probably the last time I took a trip.
Anyhow, if anyone needs to contact me please be patient--I'll be back on the 14th. Wish me luck!
Chad
Good luck brother!!!!!!!!!!
