Being that I am getting old and decrepit :scared: I am going on an elk drop camp in Sept. Do hunters normally tip on a drop camp? If so who do you tip and how much ?
Bill
A few years ago, four of us were packed into elk country in Idaho by horseback and were set up with a sleep tent, cots, cook tent, cooking gear and fuel. (We brought our own food).
We did not see the wranglers for a week, but we had a good hunting experience and they packed back out our critters. Each of us gave the wranglers $100 each and they really appreciated it.
If you have a memorable experience, why not show appreciation for the efforts of the workers?
I have always thought tipping the outfitter was not necessary, but the cooks, guides, wranglers are not paid all that much and would appreciate your tips.

That is what I do to. Have fun.
i have guided elk hunters a few times and 100.00 is a very generous tip, typically 50-100 is good
