Went out this evening for the first time to see if any deer were visiting my fields. I went to a group of three trees that are growing out of one stump which is my usual glassing spot. I can see just about all of my hay field and can sneak over undetected to a food plot from this spot. Well sat there looking over the hay field for about a hour without seeing anything. I decided to ease over and glass the food plot and as soon as I got to where I could see there was a deer moving through the plot. I looked through the glasses and about fell over at what I saw. There it was the biggest buck that I have seen on my place in about 10 years. My excitement went through the roof, this is the second nice buck I have seen in my hunting area in a week. The first was not as big as the one I saw today but I would be happy with either or I will take both :p :p Can't wait till October. :archer: :archer:
Seems like things are looking up in your neck of the woods...
Greetings!
I drove from Front Royal to Dulles airport early this AM with my wife and my daughter.
They were calling out deer left and right in the fields and each spotted several bucks - a couple of dandy ones - along with a lot of does.
The deer population in northern VA seems to be doing quite well!
Have a great 2009 hunting season!
Shoot straight, Shinken
I work near Dulles, and have to be careful on my commute. They are booming, and the bucks are looking pretty good these days.

Are you trying to tempt me to come back down to VA, Kathy?
Pat
