Title: Limb Skins & Bolt On Quivers
Post by: Keuka on August 24, 2009, 05:11:00 PM
I bought some Limb Skins from Alaskan Bowhunting and I have to cut holes in them to mount my bolt on bow quiver. I'm thinking I should reinforce the areas where I'm going to cut the holes to keep the material from unraveling. I don't sew so I'm thikging of maybe fabric cementing both sides of the area before cutting the holes.

Question:
1.Anyone out there done this? Did you reinforce the area or just cut or burn the holes with a wood burning tool.
2.The material is stretchy and may have nylon or some other material that is self sealing when heated. Did you try this and wish you hadn't because you ended up a hole that kept growing untill your bow fell out?

I have just cut the holes with scissors and never had any problems for the past four years.

I cut holes in mine for both my quiver and clicker, and I've never had them unravel.

x2 Haven't had trouble with mine and they're at least 6 years old.

My takedown looks good with the tigerstripe skin from Alaskan.  I cut holes where they said, and bolted the limbs on.  The tightness will keep it from unravelling....I think!

I have shot for over a week now with it.  Five days to go!!!!
