Title: BOWHUNTING REFLECTIONS by Steve Gorr and Fred Anderson
Post by: 2treks on August 24, 2009, 12:12:00 PM
I got my copy late last week and sat down after Church Sunday to watch it. Vey cool production indeed. I lived in Montana for a while and sure did get a taste for the west and watching the wonderful land that the two hunters get to play in was a nice treat. Now if I could just find that set of rocks that Steve was next to when he took that nice bull...
...or the point blank shot on the bedded mulie.
Very cool stuff Guys, Thanks.
Get a copy and enjoy it.Steve is a sponsor up top.You will like it I'm sure.
Chuck
p.s Chris Hill is also in the video and as near as I can tell, any of the Three shooters know how to handle a bow, they are some good shooters.

All videos should represent the sport of archery and bowhunting as this one does.  No goofy wackm' and stackm', fist-pumping, high-fiving in front of the camera.  No face masks, leafy suits, etc.   Just a well represented document, and very well done...showing the real joy of archery.

This is a instant Traditonal Bowhunting "classic"... One of my two best favorites in my collection.  Bowhunting Oct. Whitetails is the other.

I hear they are making another DVD.. Yes I will have the new one as well.

I know what you mean George, I kept waiting for the speed metal music to blast in my ear. What do you guys think about me making a "PLAID" wool vest" That stuff Steve has is awesome looking, and it appears to work "OK"

Hi Chuck, Glad you liked the video. If you could find that pattern you could probably sell a few garments. Steve told me that the guy ran out of it or sold it I can't remember. Gino from Bison gear was making  packs out of it also at one time. Chris.

Our vests are made from our own farm raised sheeps wool That we felt into a fabric and then sew up into a vest. So, I can try and make any pattern that I Have a color for(all of our wool is also natural colored,no dye). Steve from NORTHERN MIST asked melast week if I can do a plaid. I will keep you posted on what comes of it. (On a side note Steve called me last night and said he got another antalope.I wonder if it will make pope and young like his last two.)
What is the make of Steves(Gorr)plaid? Do you know Chris?

George Stout those very things you describe are why I enjoy watching Fred Eichler. That man enjoys every arrow he let's loose!  I think he represents what archery and bow hunting are truelly about. Any man that hunts and doesn't show some form of motion isn't a hunter he's just a killer.

I haven't had a chance to watch this dvd yet but soon I will and have heard nothing but good things about it from my friends.

Chuck, for some reason I think the wool was from Hidden Wolf? If that is a company?

I received my copy about a week ago, saving it for my 15 hour plane ride to Australia in 2 weeks.

Hey Irish, you may get to watch it a couple of times.

That "15 hours" is only accurate if there is no head wind. No Worries Mate, you can settle in during that extra hour or three for a second viewing of one great Bowhunting video!

P.S. Do not forget to take enough arrows. Australia is not North America. I'm betting they sell virtually zero three and four-arrow quivers Down Under.

The Gorr / Anderson DVD is just plain fun to watch!

With family and friends I've enjoyed it about a dozen times now.  I better be careful or I'll start sounding like Steve or Fred...or Chris....

:~)

I hope they produce a version 2.  I'll be all over that too!

Shoot straight, Shinken

I'd be buying one or two of those plaid vests especially if it was a blend of dark and light natural colors.  Make mine with a nice tight heavy fabric please!

Well, I have had some qestions and responses to this(looks like I/we hijacked my own thread)and we will see what we can do. I had some contact with Mr. Gorr and he thinks a jack shirt may be nice. I will go to work on it this fall.
But, to get back on topic now, CHECK OUT THIS DVD!, it is pretty cool, and it comes from a sponsor of TRADGANG!

Irish, Good luck in Australia. I wish I could make it down there some time soon. I hope the video will help with the flight or at least help put you to sleep LOL. Shoot lots of critters and post pics when you get back. Chris.

Thank you so much for the interest in the next DVD. I do have 80% of it shot. However it will not be ready for editing until the fall of 2010. The reason for this is I need to get something real special that really nocks the socks off of the viewer. I know what in going after and when the arrow is on its downward flight ill have it. Thank you for your support. Have you fellows looked at the new trad bowhunters  magazine Trad Archers World.

Hey Ben, You need to get Steve down there to hunt some critters. Do you know if there are any do it yourself buff hunts?
