Post by: ThePushArchery on August 23, 2009, 01:05:00 PM
Can someone give me a comparison of these two bows?

The hawkeye looks very similiar to the MA's by BLack widow.

Is Samick owned by BW?

Any info is appreciated.

THanks,
Matt

The hawkeye is a very good bow for the price,
but the Widow(PsaV)is faster(chrono test),far smoother, less handshock. The Hawkeye is silent compared to the widow.

Samick is I beleive a Korean Company. And there are no affiliations in the two companies. I know that Black Widow is second to none in customer service and standing behind what they make. I know the cost are substanially differnt. You've got three great bows listed in your profile and my thoughts are that the Samicks would be a step backwards for you. Just my opinion, Big Ed

A good comparison would be a porsche and a mazda. Both will get you where you need to go one just does it a little better. Then there is the resale value......Samick is made in korea, once by a piano mfg. now by samick sports ltd. The company has quite a following these days in olympic style competition. As far as I know, the Hawkeye is no longer made.

The PSE Coyote is an import as well, just FYI.
The newer Samicks are much finer weapons, both in design and performance.  I wouldn't suggest that their upper lines wouldn't compete with any bow of similar design.  They have came a long way with some USA help, to get their bows slimmer, sleeker, and more appealing.  The Hawkeye is not made anymore, and was a great bow for the money.

Black Widow can rest on its own reputation, and will not take a back seat to any bow; not the fastest, but time tested and quality throughout.
