Title: Wetshot
Post by: K. Mogensen on August 20, 2009, 01:57:00 PM
Anybody use a wetshot glove for hunting? Not bowfishing. I'm interested in one and would like to hear from some people that have used one. Thanks!

I have one and I am sure you could use it for hunting.  It is neopreme instead of leather.  I use a tab for hunting.

I used one for a year. I lost my Big shot glove so I used the wet shot. Worked great.

I shot my normal arrows w/ it and it seemed okay. I like the feel of leather. Bought the Black Widow reinforced glove as my back up and just broke it in. Only took a couple hundred arrows. I like it and it shoots great for me. I prefer the feel of this one over the wet shot. also, neoprene has an odor that repels me, not that animals would care.

I've used one for the past 2 years for practice, 3-d's and hunting.  I like it.  I use the blue one as I figure that if I drop it I can still find it and if the critter sees my drawing hand, I've got issues anyway.

I went with the wet shot partly because of cost. I like good stuff but look for the best bang for my buck.  You can rinse it out and not worry about it.  I do think that the leather would hold the finger stalls a bit more snug as the neoprene does have a bit of give.  But the nylon release is slick.  Just relax the fingers and the arrows away!  I don't mind the smell of neoprene because I also duck hunt with neoprene waders.  It just brings memories.  There really isn't much smell at all, to me at least.

I'd still like to try a leather, but will have to wait for the right deal.

Ideally I'd use a full shot but I don't have 60-70+$ for a glove. I like this for the water proof element and the fact that it's made by american leathers. Thanks all who posted!
