G'day all here,
Well over the last few months I'm been gearing up for my CO Elk hunt. Naturally arrows are needed and I'm made these set up over the last few months whenever I've been home.

This set of shafts I did not foot myself this time, these were a gift from my good mate Joseph Myers from MT and he sent them over a year or so back... in fact I think I still owe you some cash too mate...ops! I'll get onto that asap!
Killdeer sent me the Mercury nocks a few months back as well so I owe both these fine Tradgangers a pat on the back for 'un-asked for' gifts... many thanks you pair.
This is the working end of these arrows... a mixture of the new Woodsmans (3), the older model (6), 2 judos for stumping and a Hex head for anything else that'll need a blunting.

Sorry for the poor photography... my point and shoot is not as good as my Canon 50D, but I always write a latin quote on all my arrows... both ones for me and others that I build for people.

"Whispering Death" is a fitting name for such a hunt I think...
These weigh in at an average of 636 grains and I plan to send 'em though my Black Widow PLX Kingwood T/D. His name is "DaisyCutter" after my love of stumping Daisy's when out hunting. At 66# and my draw of 29.5" I think this combo will be enough to run daylight through any Bull Elk or Mulie that is upwind of me.

Wish me luck people... I only need one chance... Mr Elk & Mulie will need every chance.
I'm off now to put a mirror edge on some WW's.

If the elk in Colorado aren't worried, they should be.

Joe
PS.. 1 week - 3 days --11 hours
Tremendous Al!
Truth be told - by simply pullin' one of those broadhead tipped wonders out of your quiver- the elk will be stunned by its beauty and you will have all the time you need to make your best shot.
Have a great hunt in Colorado! We will be anxious to learn of your adventures! Word on the street is you've got one the best elk guides out there!
Shoot straight, Shinken

good job !

I too was hoping to shake your paw, but will be leaving Iowa the day before you fly in. Dr John knows elk, horses and the Rockies - you will have a grand adventure.
Great arrows and set up. Good Hunting!
G'Day Mate ,Those arrows are Fantastic Looking,You've got a great looking rig there.Your right there will be daylight through anything the daisy touches. Would love to get me a set of sticks like that. Best of luck !
Al,
The arrows are dandies !!! Good Luck Mate
Those appear to be some of the finest looking arrows I have ever seen. While it would seem to be a shame to see them bloody and busted it would be a bigger shame not to. See you in 6 days, I will meet you at the baggage claim.
Man, the more I look at'm the cooler they are! Mr. Kidner, you sure do have some talent there. Again, good luck on your trip!
Beautiful arrows Al, good luck on the hunt  I will think Elky thoughts for you!
Good on ya cobber Al! Bonzer sticks indeed.
Fitting name for 'em. I had a bow named that (in latin too) and a couple more in different languages. My current is "Co'gan D'bais"..."whisper of death" in Celtic.
Looking forward to reading your story of the adventure. Have a coldie for me when yer gathered around the bush telly.
Fine craftsmanship for sure.
awesome sticks bro and good luck on the hunt
Al great looking set up.
Great work on the arrows Al, and I wish you the best on your hunt. Aim small and be safe, happy hunting, Mark :archer:
beautiful arrows and very pretty bow to
enjoy your hunt
Absolutely beautiful! The Latin inscription sounds like a curse out of "Harry Potter"! Very cool.
Al, those arrows are way to pretty to shoot at an Elk, when you stop in Los Angeles Ca. give me a ring and I'll give you some ugly killing arrows.
Hope you have a great time, looking forward to hearing about it.
 :notworthy:
Have fun and pick a spot.
stickbowmen do it in style. great sticks there!
Absolutely gorgeous arrows! Good luck!!
that's one fine combo :wavey:
I've just returned from a weekend away with the family.... many thanks people for all the kind words and well wishers.
Cheers,
ak.
Your set Al!! Those are gorgeous. Good luck on your CO Elk hunt. Cant wait to hear all about it with pics.
Pick your stump shots carefully with only 3 to spare. These Rocky mountains can tear-em up.
:wavey:
Real sweet arrows bud. Have been doing the same since I learned to speak Russian in French.
:help:
Very beautiful arrows !
WOW!...these are some handsome arrows!.
