Big Jim has been in the hospital for the past few days. While at the TBOF event he got a tick bit and ended up with a serious infection!
He may get out of the hospital in a couple more days. He wanted to let everyone know his 3d event scheduled for next weekend is still on. He may need some help getting his place ready for the event, so if anyone lives near him and wants to help, it would be appreciated.
Dang, he sure is a good dude.I had the pleasure of meeting him at Denton.I see why they call him Big Jim.Hope hes feeling better.

Get well soon. Chad
I am sitting here with about sixty slowly fading nymphal tick bites... Jim has my sympathy. So far none of my tickscapades has sent me to the horse-pistol.
Jim has a good soul. He saw my arrow bounce back past my ear offa the iron pig at ATAR, and bounced his back the same way. I'm sure he did it on purpose, just to make sure that I didn't feel stupid. Now THAT'S a gentleman!
Killdeer :) :wavey:
A little old tick ain't going to keep Big Jim down.

Being put in a hospital by a bug; when we face such huge dangers in the wild; its just enough to make a guy angry ( taken down by a hobo spider myself).
Get better Jim; and vitamin C !!! Get your immune system back up!!

From the other site:
I want to thank you all for your prayers- I will do my best to deserve them.
I just made it home from the hospital last night and am feeling a little rough still. I am happy to report that there may have been more progress made under my wifes tutileage and the kindness of our friends than if I had been here myself.
We our on track to having a great shoot. Hope that everyone that has made plans to come has not changed anything and has told there friends. In case you didn't know, this is a mixed shoot and set up for everyone to have a great time. So if you have friends that are thinking about taking up trad but havn't yet, it would be a great time for them to see how we have a good time.
thanks, Bigjim
Glad to hear that you're doin' better, Jim. I met you at the Ky Klassic this year. You are a very kind person and I enjoyed walking through your tent setup and seeing all the nice bows you had for sale.
I wish you the best.
Doug
Good to hear that you are up and at it again Jim. You are a big part of the traditional archery family. Good luck on your recovery.
Jim, hope you have a speedy recovery Dan
Heal fast!!!

Hey everybody- I want to thank you for all the good words and spiritual help. I am out of the hospital and have been for a couple of days.
My energy level is quite low which anoys me more than any other problem that I'm experiencing.
I was bit by a tick, and ended up with Staff infection.
After an operation and three days of being stuck in the bed, got hammered by a bad case of the Gout (never heard of a good case of gout) which kept me in the hospital until I could stand up.
I am on the mend. Put down the crutches yesterday morning, eating a little better now, and will be good to go in no time.
I have had a tremendous amount of help for our upcoming shoot this weekend. When people found out about my situation, they came out of the woodwork to lend there assistance. They have got everything on track for a spectacular shoot this weekend. If you can make it, you won't regret it.
Unfortunatley, it takes some adversity for one to realize how many friends they realy have.
Again, a BIG THANKS to everyone.
BigJim
Take care and I hope you recover soon and get back at those things you enjoy.
Take Care, Chad
Glad to hear you're better!
Marco
Get Well Big Jim!
