Title: RER Arroyo
Post by: Doug in MN on August 13, 2009, 11:27:00 PM
Ok I am going to call Kevin and Sue back in the AM and buy one or the other SO?

1. 60" 53# @ 28
2. 58" 43# @ 28 THE WINNER !!!

The bow is going to be used as a ground blind tight quarters hunting bow more than anything else.

When I did a little experiment this evening shooting off chairs, and off my knees, and sitting on the ground, etc , etc. I do shorten my draw down to an even 29". I hunt when it is way to cold be out and at my age you get stiff when it is cold.

OK then number 2.

Joe feel free to chime in.

Doug, the one thing we didn't really talk about was what you plan to hunt with the bow.  If we're talking whitetails and maybe bears, the 58" 43# bow would certainly do the job.  At your draw you will be getting about 46# out of it, and the 58" Arroyo is designed to be smooth drawing all the way out to a 30" draw.  Many on here who have them will attest to that.  That lower draw weight sure would feel good come December!  And the shorter length will work well with the ground blind.

Joe, I hunt whitetails more than any thing else and off the ground all the time any more.

The 58" 43# it is: I am going to call in the AM I will take that one for sure.

Thanks for all your help, I should have mentioned that the intended use was to be a Whitetail bow here In MN an WI.

All my best to you. Good Luck in WY!!!

Larry,I appreciate the offer but I am going to buy the bow mentioned above from RER/WHIP. They helped me out a lot today and have a bow that is going to be perfect for my use.

You should just place yours in the classified section I would think it would sell quick.

I have a 54" Arroyo i use for turkey hunting out of my DB blind. Bocote riser and Zebra limbs. Sweet little bow smooth, quick, and nice and light to carry around. Two of my buddies have 58" and just love em. Good luck hunting with it this year Doug.
