The long wait is over. Beth emailed me pictures of my new Silvertip today. She mailed it out today, so I hope to have it by Sat.
Riser is rosewood dymondwood with Chechen flare. Limbs are Marblewood. I actually found the marblewood and sent it to Beth and Dave. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating in my requests. Thanks again Windauers!!!
I have to say thanks also to Billy Shipp. I patterned my riser after his, with a small change or two. His is one of the nicest 'Tips ever!!
Now the long wait for the mailman. Man I can't wait to shoot this one.
And all you lefties out there, wipe the drool off your keyboards....this one won't be in the classifieds!! :bigsmyl:

I will try to get some outdoor pics when it arrives. Beth said is was rainy in the Big Sky state this morning.
Nice looking bow Allen. I know you will put it to good use. good shooting. DB
Gorgeous! Congratulations!
WHOO HOOO....that bow is drop dead gorgeous Allen !!!!!!!
That Marblewood is stunning on the veneers, and the Marblewood riser overlay really sets the bow off nicely.
Congratulations....the best thing about a Tip is they shoot just as good as they look.
Christmas in August....can't beat that with a big ol stick.
Billy
Yep, it sure is pretty.....now if I can just shoot it good!!!! I'm sure the bow will do it's part.
Nice! I usually don't like much grain pattern; but, man that marblewood looks really cool!! Congrats, you had them put together a really, really nice looking bow.
Thanks bgremill. At the time that I bought the Marblewood, I had never seen a bow with this wood in it. I knew it was for me.
Since then, I've seen several other bows using this wood, but this is the first Silvertip with it.
Finally....now he's out of the longbow class :archer:
Alright I know you've been waiting for this day. Beautiful woods brother. Let me know how you two get along.
T.J.
Allen my keys are sticking together from the drool :)
Jack
Very nice, gotta the those tips, makes me want another!!
Nice bow....I'm a lefty to....I'm still gonna look for it in the classifieds in a couple of years, lol
Very nice!
Beautiful bow! And the Marblewood is Gorgeous. Cook's Mountain offers Marblewood as a veneer on his bows. I believe RER has started offering it, too. Congrats and best of luck with your new bow.
Bill
Sweet Allen, that is purty!!!! What the spec's so I can dream you sell it (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l101/GUNSMITHAMMO/Smileys/thworalevm2.gif)
And pray I had the cash (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l101/GUNSMITHAMMO/Smileys/RollingSmiley.gif)

Brent, it's a 60"bow, and I orderred 49@27. I was too excited and forgot to ask Beth how the weight turned out, but I'm sure it's close.
Doc, don't worry.....I'll still come and play in your class from time to time. Don't want you to get lonely at the top. :biglaugh:
Looks awesome! I have a few more weeks before I get mine, but my mouth is already watering!!! congrat's on the new bow if it shoots as good as it looks all you should have to do is point it!! HA! Jason
Allen,
I spoke to Beth this morning and somehow your bow came into the conversation.
She said they misunderstood you on the poundage you wanted. She and Dave both swear you ordered it 59#'s @27", and that's what Dave built.
Just look at it, box it back up, then send it on to me (:
Billy
Awesome !
Congratulations, I have an all zebrawood Silvertip that should be here in a couple of months.
Danny
Very nice indeed, gotta love those Silvertips. I have one due in January :)
Well Allen, I'm sure Bill will have some special shot selections for you this comming Monday night. Dial her in real good.... If you get her tomorrow, Dan and I will be scouting around Earlysville. Give a hallar, we should be out of the woods around noon. See ya soon. Jefro
They make silvertips lower than 70#'s???
Gorgeous bow! fisr that I've seen out of marblewood.
Nice going Allen- I have one coming in a week or two, I have no idea what it will look like. I told Dave to indulge himself with Beth as official approver. It has the same spec's as your's 60"
49-51# @ 27".. What ever happened to the Morrison?
Congratulations on the Schafer, I've had a bunch and have loved to shoot all of them.
Bill
Thanks again everyone.
Billy, if that's the case, I guess I'll just have to start working out more!
Maxwell, the Morrison lives in France now.
Hope to see pics of your new one soon.
Allen
Congrats. I'm expecting a call, soon, for my riser order (for my extra limbs).
Yours is a beauty!
Well, no bow on the mail today. Looks like I have to wait till Monday.

After a lond weekend, the mail lady finally came through today! All I can say is wow, wow, and wow!!
The bow came out just as I had dreamed....Dave did a flawless job.
The draw weight ended up 50@27, and she really rips an arrow.
The only issue I have right now is hitting to the right with it. I've been shooting an ACS for the past several months, so I'm hoping my eye and bow arm will get accustomed to the recurve again (even though I'm a gapper). My groups are awesome, just a few inches right, however the distance right seemed to be decreasing as the evening went on today.
Heck, I almost Robon Hooded one with it already. :bigsmyl:
I think she's a keeper!!
Congrats, Allen!!! I'm waiting to get one back from a re-finish job. Have to admit I'm a little envious after seeing yours!
Hey Allen,
Been away all weekend and didn't see your post. The bow looks "great"! I remember when you ordered it....seemed like yesterday...LOL!
Looks like that ACS is going to finally have some competition for the leading role. Let me what you think after a week or so of tinkering and shooting.
Take care buddy!
Tim
The bow looks GREAT. The wood combos are wonderful. They even made me drool over it. Glad it is built backwards. I will not be up late looking for it in the classifieds.
I am sure you will get it tuned in.
Let me know what arrow combo you end up with.
Tim
Hey Allen, It's OK if you can't "dial her in" before this weekend. I've learned to handle getting beat on the range, but when you're shooting a brand new bow, you've gotta have some flyers now and then, right?
"Shooting a few inches to the right". Hmm, most of us have the same problem, except it's a few inches to the right, then a few inches to the left, then a few inches high, etc., etc.
See you and your new "mate" on Saturday!
Tim, I'll give you a full report in a couple weeks.
Bill (Cool Springer)....I'll take you to school this weekend at the 3D shoot :biglaugh:
Beautiful bow Allen! Bet it shoots as good as it looks!
pretty pretty TIP!!!
someday i will get to shoot one.
how do you like that chechen wood? i have a longbow riser of chechen and i love it. awesome tones and almost a iridescent look to it.
Joe VT, the Chechen really matches the grain in the marblewood perfect. It has some beautiful grain when you look at it close.
Chris....it's a real shooter!!
I just took off the elevated rest and set it up to shoot off the shelf. That took away the problem with hitting to the right. It's shootin' great now. I may be able to tune it to the rest later, but I have a 3D shoot this weekend....so I need to get it going now.
Congrats, beauty of a bow.
I am jealous for sure. I ordered one today and will have to impatiently wait for the months to slowly drag by. My fault, however. I had one of Pauls bows I picked up 2nd hand back in the nineties and made the mistake of selling it. Granted it was a bit heavy for regular shooting and my shoulders. It was in the upper 70's at 27" and I draw 28.5".
Beautiful bow you got there, and with that, I will go back to my waiting--
Will in Kenai
I just have to keep going back and looking at that bow.
It's a beauty Allen....not quiet, but almost as pretty as another one I know of....of course, that opinion may be a bit biased (:
Billy
Will, hang in there. That ten month wait will only seem like....well.....10 months!
It's worth it though!
Billy, yeah just rub it in :biglaugh:
Maybe we should have a Silvertip beauty contest. LOL
You know I can't help picking on you Allen.
The Marblewood veneers are definitely different and special.
A fine, fine bow there my friend.
Thats 9 months, 30 days and 9 hours to you.
Man how time flys. On the brighter side, its better than the three plus years I have waited for custom knives and such.
Billy, it's all good. You should be happy having the 2ND prettiest Silvertip!! :biglaugh:
Wildwill, not the bust your bubble......buuut it actually took me 10 months, 10 days, 2 hours, and 56 seconds to get mine.
Not that I was counting or anything!
Beautiful bow! I have two 'Tips and boy, do they shoot!
Claudia
