I own an old Martin Hatfield takedown. This bow has the forked limbs, ball bearings for alignment and the knurled limb bolts. My question is has anyone ever replaced the limb bolts with something more modern and low profile. I would like to hunt with the bow this year but I fear the limb bolts may snag more vegetation than regular limb bolts would. I am also going to contact Martin Archery to see what they recommend as well.

You can probably find some standard limb bolts and bezels for your hatfield. You'll just need to shop around. Personally, I liked the Knurl knobs they use to put on the hatfields. I had a few different model hatfields with them and I don't remember having any issues with snagging things. Shucks, my quiver was/is more of a problem than the knobs were.
Well Chris I may just give it a go without changing them. I have not shot this beauty in a long time. If it becomes a problem then I will worry about it. Thanks
I replaced my knurled limb bolts with some ones from Martin that are flush(actually just a little raised) with the limbs. I called Martin and then I ordered them though a local dealer.
The knurled ones never really snagged on anything but to me the flush ones look better.
Those original knurled knobs work fine in the woods. Jeffery uses them on the Royal Hunter I believe, and I had no issues with that bow.
The original MHTD stood for Martin Hunter Takedown, I believe. The first Hatfield was the gray actionwood with zebrawood accents. I'm sure someone will correct me if I have that wrong.
