Hi Bill at Zipper Bows.
Lucas is the "star" of The Journey Begins DVD we recently introduced. Its the story of a kids introduction to bowhunting (Lucas was 11 when we started filming and 13 when we finished).
We wanted to produce something to reach young people to encourage them to get into bowhunting. We've included educational material and focused on the many rewards and life lessons that can have a real positive impact on a kid.

Terry - we tried to represent Lucas' first kill with dignity and were able to capture the raw emotion he was overcome with. It remains my favorite hunting moment - to see how he reacted to the sight of his first deer harvest. Nothing like getting a kid involved and seeing how all the experiences he's encountering are helping to shape his character in a positive way.

My oldest Grandson is almost 4 yrs old, we sat down and started watching The Journey Begins together a couple weeks ago. We didn't get time to watch it all before he had to go home. So he asked if he could take "Where's Lucas" home and watch it...of course I said yes.

It definitely made an impression on him. And my wife thought I was crazy when I gave him a little Rhino bow for his third birthday!

When we set out to produce "The Journey Begins" we wanted something that would compliment a parent or grandparents efforts to get kids involved in traditional bowhunting. Something that would be educational but at the same time inspirational; something that would offer foundations to build on for the next generation.
We were really blessed to have won an award for it last fall. Our hope is that it will catch on and be utilized to reach kids, they seem to relate well to Lucas and his experiences. I've got a bunch of them ready to ship out, they're also available at your favorite distributor too! 3Rivers - Kustom King - Black Widow - Morrison - JP Traditional
