Title: Skinning a one-piece?
Post by: duck'n on March 30, 2007, 03:27:00 PM
I plan on skinning my old 58" Black Bear Hunter.  I read the tutorial on the How-To section and everything is explained very well.  The only question I have at this time is how to join the two skins.  I am thinking the should just be cut perpendicular to the back of the bow and leave as small a seam as possible.  Would you then use a roll-on type rubber sure grip or something to protect the seam or does it really matter?  I also wonder about using my slide on Selway quiver with the skins because it is a real snug fit as is and I don't want it to rub holes in the skins.  Any advice is appreciated as this will be my first attempt at skinning a bow.  Thanks to all.
