Title: Bamboo Flooring Arrows
Post by: huntwithastick on August 06, 2009, 09:56:00 PM
Has anyone here ever made arrows out of bamboo flooring?  If so, how'd they turn out?

Several years ago Troy Breeding ran a bunch of bamboo flooring through his arrow shaft machine. He had a professional grade machine at the time. His results were poor at best. I ended up with dozens of his flooring shafts because he gave them all away to friends, none were arrow material.

I know someone made some hex shafts with bamboo flooring and liked it. However I can't remember who it was.

When we first started using it I ran a bunch into arrow shafts. All of the 11/32" dia I ran were 47# spine, in order to get heavier you would have to run larger diameters, can you imagine a 1/2" dia 60# shaft?
