I have been shooting the same set up for the past 2 years and it has worked fine. But this past weekend I go out and start changing things that wasnt broke in the first place, trying to gain a little extra performance from my bow thinking it would make me a better hunter this fall. I think we over think things at times and loose sight of what traditional archery is all about, keeping it simple and not relying on the latest gadgets on the market to make us better hunters. The indians did fine for thousands of years with out all the gadgets that is being pushed by the so called "pro staff" in the hunting industry.
well said...
Yes but the indians had a lot more hunting days than I get so I need a few little gadgets to get the freezer full. :D
Use what works for you. Simple. Sometimes we want to try other bows, arrows, quivers..... The list could be endless. That's part of the good life in The Great U.S.A. Been there, done that and still at it. :banghead: It's all in fun.
Please don't fall into tunnel vision and/or not advance your skill level. Yes... Keep it simple but learn from others on how to get better.
Best Of Luck To You!

That's the heart of it, right there. As different bows come and go and I get all caught up in the rush of new stuff, from time to time I take down my old Appalachian longbow and the few remaining cedars from the original dozen that I got with it and just go shoot. It never fails to put a smile on my face and everything else back in perspective.
I understand the message but ya know there are those of us who like gadgets. Well that is if things like plungers, magnetic flippers and stabilizers are gadgets???
If ya want to know why take a look at the IBO score differnce between RU and longbow. 10's are just as important hunting as they are in 3D :)

simple is the best path to the "X" ring on a foam target or a live one :)
