So I was practicing out of my blind (ill write a review of it soon enough for all of you) and noticed today the sun was beating right down on it and i could barely see my targets at 10 yards.
Anyone else have this problem?
Other then keeping the sun behind you anyone come up with any solutions? I want to leave the mesh up b/c without it you can still see it but I was thinking of just cutting some holes in it so it still has some cover but you can still make out small bits and pieces.
Yep I have the same problem. It just gets to be a matter of angles to the sun. You do get used to it a little bit. Its a little worse in the summer but still something you have to deal with. I'll be watching this thread for ideas. I think this season I'll be using the mesh less. The problem is the when the sun is getting low and its when you want to be able to see the best.
Only solution I know is to play the sun (and wind) and set-up accordingly.
yea im gonna set it up so the sun rises behind me since ill be hunting during the mornings in this spot and it will be under the canopy so i should be OK...if not ill come up with something on the fly like we always seem to do haha!
anyone else have any experience?
I was also thinking of removing thewindows and hanging pieces of it in strips rather then a solid film...allows more visibility and still covers.
If the sun comes into the blind through the mesh, it cancels the black-background effect by highlighting you. The animals can see your movement. I always try to set up so that the sun is behind or to the side of the blind, and keep it closed on the sun side.

On my other blind I would agree but my new yukon i dont have that problem. I had both my dogs in the blidn while I walked around to check and even though the sun was blinding down on the mesh i couldn't see them.
On the flip side though you cant see out either LOL.
