Title: Beman ICS carbons
Post by: SBT on August 02, 2009, 10:11:00 PM
Alright, so whats the difference between the ICS Bowhunter, ICS Hunter and ICS Hunter Elite. As far as I can tell it's just a matter of how straight you want them. Is that it?

A confused arra flinger wants to know.

Straightness and an upgrade in the nocks that come with the shafts. I like the Bowhunters for the price.

I have had good luck with the bowhunters shafts and I think for me they were the best buy. I sell a lot of the carbon and bemen hunters seem to be the mid price arrows.

I ask hunters can they tell the fdifference when they shoot a arrow that is .006, .003, .002... for me shooting under 60 yards at tgt's or hunting I see no major changes in my shooting for score and bringing home game.

the costs go so much higher for the .003 or .002 over the hunter grade of .006.

Thanks for the insight, pretty much what I figured.

Most of the run out that throws off shaft tolerance is in the end of the shaft. If you shoot shorter than full length shafts by the time you trim the shaft back to your length the .006 arrows will be just as straight as the others. As straight as any aluminum that has been shot into a hard 3d target a few times anyway.I have shot all of them and certainly can see no difference in my shooting or for my needs. :)

I haven't shot the others, but the Bowhunters shoot the best of any shaft I have tried so far at a price that is very attractive. I see no need to change.

Bow hunters for the trad bows and hunters for the compound make good choices, and they have worked very well for me.

I would try the bow hunter in the compound, but don't shoot it much anymore.  I got 12 about that many years ago, and after shooting about 25 deer I still have 8 of them.  I may never use them up at this rate.  One I lost and three were robin hoods.

I have been shooting the bow hunters in trad bows about a year now, and so far other than robin hoods I have not broken one.

I have never had any problems with consistency, components or broad head tune issues.

Another nice thing about the Beman ICS shafts is they are large enough ID to get my forged broadhead inserted   :)   Those are all that I shoot as the Axis shafts are too skinny and less forgiving for me.  Just ask Mr Big & PV's bear...Doc
