Due to a lot of emphasis on gear, I don't read all of the articles in Bowhunter Magazine like I used to. But in the October 2009 (latest) issue, I ran across an article by Joe Lasch (Tradgang's own Whip). It was a nice story about Joe's efforts to pass his hunting heritage down to a youth. Thank you Joe for sharing your traditional values! Mike
Good on ya, Joe!
Well done mate.... well done.
Way to go buddy!
Way to go Joe, can't wait to read it bud :clapper:
This just went on the "next to read list"...looking forward to it!
Josh
Thanks guys. It came as kind of a surprise to me too. My nephew won the Bowhunter Magazine Youth Essay contest 4 years ago and the grand prize was a bear hunt in Saskatchewan. I submitted an article after we got back and it took this long to get published. Better late than never I guess!
Good job Joe :)
I'm looking forward to reading it.
Way to go Joe.
Jack
Congrats to you and your nephew are in order. I will have to make a point to head out and buy a copy.
Some things are worth waiting for.I'm happy for you Joe.
Leland
Yep Shell and I are very much fond of our Joe! :notworthy: :goldtooth: <><

Wisconsin is full of wonders, your one Joe! Looking forward to the story.
Awesome! I just had to re-up my subscription, looking forward to your article Joe!
Just read the article...very nice indeed. My highlight last year (and one of my best hunting memories to date) was hunting with my nephew. When I first started dating my wife in 1996 he was just one...last year was the first time I got to hunt with him, what an absolute blast! I remember hunting with my uncles growing up and I idolized all of them, it was an utter thrill to be the uncle this time!
We froze the last two mornings of the Michigan Gun season in a blind and he took his first deer the last night with his father, grandfather and an ecstatic uncle not far away. Still remember hearing the shot and the busting of brush that followed, that sound will forever be in my head and will always create a smile.
Awesome read!
Josh
I got my issue early last week and couldn't help myself from calling Joe to tell him he is not just a great uncle, but an all around great guy. Those of us that get to spend time with him are better for it
Everywhere I look lately, Joe is there...I looked at a Bowyers Journal last night, Joe on the cover, I look at Traditional Archers World the other day, an article by Joe, PBS Magazine; article by Joe, Bowhunter Mag, article by Joe...and on and on and on.
Must be nice to be retired :goldtooth:
Awesome job Joe
I got to camp with Joe and Irene last weekend at Denton. What a hunble man, not a word was spoken about said article :saywhat:
Well done Joe!
Looking forward to reading it.
Great job.
I`ll have to check it out.
  Kip
Way to go, Joe!
Congrats Joe and keep up the good work :clapper:

No truer words could be spoken about passing the torch. Excellent article! I just got my nephew into shooting bows and hopefully he will be bowhunting come October. I am really looking forward to experiencing some of those same feelings that Joe did.
Tip of the hat to ya Joe! enjoyed meeting you in person at Denton Hill, looking forward to sharing that campfire with you some day.
Steve you are right! I went to an Ojibwa Bowhunters trad shoot today and guess what?.....there was Joe!!!
Joe, You're in all sorts of magazines. I believe also in PBS on your Arizona Elk hunt. Looks like another Hemingway on the rise. Congrats...Doc

I hear ya, I was at the same shoot, middle of the back half, and there was Joe and his "entourage", they made us play thru because he was so busy talking with the media! What a great guy! Good times, good times!! :readit: :goldtooth:
Very cool!
Very cool Joe, congratulations!!! I see my copy must have shown up on Friday or Saturday when I was gone to a traditional shoot so I will be sure to give your article a read soon.
When are you heading out for your Unit 61 hunt? How long do you plan to stay?
Dan
Nice work, Joe. This site helps make our world a little smaller. :)
That was great Joe. Keep the ink full and flowing!
Thanks again guys. When I was just a kid I always thought how cool it would be to write for outdoor magazines. Long way to go before I can consider myself a writer, but fun to try.
Dan, we'll be in 61 about the 26th. Will be staying at least through the 6th, and maybe as long as the 12th if need be. I'll touch base with you before we leave.
Keep writing Joe your doing a great job. Also thanks again for the hat you sold me at Horicon.
And here I thought that bankers could only use an adding machine and not a keyboard! :D :p
Just read your PBS article too. I love having famous friends!
Just read the article Joe, it was very well done!!!
I am looking forward to talking to you some more both before you leave and after you get back!
