I was wondering if anyone has ever tried marblewood in a riser?
I bought a piece large enough for a riser for just a few bucks. It looks like it would look good.

I just was talking with the Dryad/Helle folks (I think that is who it was) about that wood. Said it is the nastiest thing on his equipment...
How so - oily or what?
Those look like they came from woodcraft in the turning stock section.
I believe he said tough as nails (maybe oily too)...
I looked at Dryads and a few other sites and found risers with marblewood. They looked really nice. I guess since I already have to piece, I'll give it a try.
My old Whisperstik I just sold on monday has Marblewood limb verneers, awesome looking!

Dano's Orion from Dryad has Marblewood in it - it's absolutely stunning.
looks great but the smell was simply hellish while working it in my experience
Dense is the word. Got a chunk from kevin at RER and used it on a knife. Like the way it looks. Them limbs look great BTW.<><
Got a RER LXR with a Marblewood Crescent Flair in the riser. Tough stuff, pretty dense and heavy stuff.
Ben Pearson used it in many of their hunting bows in the early to mid 1970's.
It's a very good riser wood, just tough as nails to work with. You think they call it Marblewood because it looks like marble. Nope it's hard as marble.
Mike
see, it was Mike.....
Keep an eye out for my new Silvertip in a few weeks. This will be the lams for the limbs.
