Title: Who's counting down the days (update your days)?
Post by: Oliverstacy on July 23, 2009, 06:59:00 PM: I'm counting down the days to a Minnesota Black Bear hunt...39 days and counting!

Oh and 69 days to Michigan's deer season.

Can't believe the count is down to 11 days...when I wake up tomorrow it will be 10 days, they've gone slow but fast at the same time.

Post by: D.Sheppard on July 23, 2009, 10:09:00 PM: For the first time in 4 years the farmer put in beans. With 200 or so acres of corn to hide in it's tough. If things are wet or the farmer is behind sometimes the corn is up thru gun season. The bean field that butts up to the yard had 11 bucks in it tonite and 3 of them had full blown antlers. I'm shooting every evening.

We are supposed to get some damage tags this year on the farm...3000 acres and a lot of damage.

We shoot a lot of deer in the fall but there are a ton more out there.

If I'm lucky it will be early to mid August also.

On Oct. 3-9, wife and I are going elk hunting,she drew a bull tag here in eastern KY so we are pretty pumped about that, we hope to have 3-4 deer in the freezer before we go elk hunting.

Sam it opens Sept 5th not the 15th,wouldn't want you missing out on 10 days of huntin.. :) .good luck to you & your wife on the elk....

First week of August we start getting serious and mid Sept will find me in CT chasing whitetails. Then Jersey, then maybe a few days in NY in October. This is the grown ups way of anticipating Xmas!

I`m teaching my kids to hunt. They are learning that the learning never stops...the drive to hunt never stops.

We are enjoying the summer...the blueberries, sweet corn, swimming, nightcrawlers, fishing with mosquitoes in your ear,...but we are indeed counting the days, even if it IS just out our back door. :thumbsup:
