Title: Shipping to Canada

Has any one have experience Shipping Bows to Canada? Cost, Customs, Ect. MIke   :confused:

I did it not to long ago, other than some interesting paperwork and a bit more mocey at the post office and time to get out there, I didn't have one issue at all.

Funny thing was the bow I traded for arrived from Canada before mine got over to him (about a week).

My advice is to use the U.S. Mail since UPS and those other carriers will tack on a bunch of customs and broker charges.

I've had a couple bows shipped here and both times the sender used USPS without any issues. Usually it takes about a week.

Use priority Post. The couriers like fed Ex /UPS charge 25% brokerage plus tax at this end. The post office charges a flat rate $7.00 for brokerage , plus tax.

I got WHACKED $109 for UPS's customs charges. DO NOT US UPS

I imported at least 20 bows from the US in the last 6 years and I never had any problem what so ever. USPS is the only way to go IMO. No brokerage fees. UPS is waaaay to expensive.

Priority Mail International
Maximum length and girth combined 108"

Some postal workers do not know this and can say shipping something longer than 42" is impossible. Not so. Use «Priority Mail International» not «Express Mail International».

There is a major bow shortage up here in Canada and Quebec. Not only is shipping to Canada and Quebec easy, it’s a noble cause.

I bought a longbow awhile ago, and the seller put a $1000.00 insurance on the bow. When the bow arived here I had to pay 14% tax on $1000.00. So yeh, $140.00 tax on a used bow, plus the shipping cost. And that was sent by regular parcel post. And on top of that,the bow was horribal. Mind you, that was when the liberal government was in office..........lol

USPS Priority no problem at all, with the two bows I had shipped here last year.

Shame there are boyers who still refuse to ship to Canada.
