I shoot 60#s at 28" 600 grain arrow would these heads be good for bear??
-
I used almost that exact setup 2 years ago on black bear, and I had a complete passthrough. He ran about 30 yards. If you hit the bear right, they go down pretty easy.

It would be a great head for bears....not just a good head. Get them sharp.
-
The ones i have i can get pretty sharp with just a file so im gonna get some new ones

The two blade will kill quickly if placed correctly. Bears don't leave a very good blood trail so the last five bears I've shot I used 3 blades exclusively. I also use a string tracker in case the bear gets out of sight.

My wife killed a mature blackie with her 46# DAS, a 500 grain Beman MFX with 200 grains of four blade Phantom on the point end. The shot was a pass thru and the bear was 25 yards from where she hit him. If your bear does not go down quickly you may wish you used a multiblade head.

I agree with the use of a multiblade head for black bears. Lots of hair that soaks up your blood trail. I've shot five black bears all with four blade Magnus, all were complete pass throughs with the arrow sticking in the ground on the other side. I shoot 60lbs. with a 545gr. arrow. Black bears are no more difficult to penetrate than a large whitetail. Be patient and wait for the right shot.

I have never had a bear go more than 30 yards with a Magnus 2 blade.
When hit in the lungs, I think black bears go down quicker than any other big game animal I have hunted.
Last years bear didn't even go 10 yards. When I hit him, he spun doing a 360 and took 3 or 4 leaps and crashed.

I took my first black bear last year with a two-blade 125gr Magnus w/ 100gr insert on a 55/75 shaft. Complete pass-through at 20 yards. The bear only traveled another 20-25 yards before expiring.

Well, they've worked for years on just about everything.

Do yourself a favor and use a multiple blade for bears.
