What are your favorite broadheads?
Here are mine: 2-blades

In the middle, Silver Flame 185 grain DS model, on the left/bottom, Magnus 1, 135 grain weighted to 260, and the Pearson Deadhead (1950's vintage), 135 grain weighted to 260 grains. Not pictured the Silver Flame 180 grain XL.
And the 3-blades:

From left to right, Magnus Snuffer 160 weighted to 200 grains, Woodsman 125 weighted to 200 grains, High Precision (1950's vintage) 200 grains total weight, 300 Extreem, 300 grians, and the Snuffer SS at 125 grains. Not pictured, but also use the original Magnus Snuffer 100 grian weighted to 125 grains and the 125 grain Snuffer weighted to 200 grains, and the Razorcap at both 125 grains and 200 grains.
Being of sound mind and body, and a wallet that likes to resist opening too often, I find that the one I started with is just as good today as ever. Bear Razorheads. 1964's.
magnus 1s 130gr ..2 Blade
woodsmen ..3 Blade
magnus 1s 4 blade 150gr ..4 Blade
If I had to choose one favorite.....Its the one I've been shooting most since the mid 80's.
Zwickey Delta 4 blade by far. Its downed more game also in less yards than any other also by far.
Ooooooh tough one.
I'm in a 4-way tie between Magnus 1, 2 & 4 blade, Woodsmen & Delta 4 blade.
I don't really look at what I'm pulling out of the box anymore. It'll be one of those 4, and any will do! I often carry one of each in my quiver.
My absolute favorites are the Ashby 315 grain single bevel two blade and the 300 Xtreem three blade. They ought to be good for as much as they cost! The single bevel Abowyer and Grizzly broadheads and the double bevel Silver Flames are darn close. I would hunt anything with any of those broadheads.
Like Terry, I like less expensive broadheads too because they work well in most situations and don't deplete your bank account. There are too many of those for me to try to list, although the Zwickey Deltas are certainly there, along with many more. The Bear Razorheads were some I used to shoot years ago, but after a couple of failures on admittedly poor shots where bone was contacted, I stopped using them and could not ever bring myself to go back. I would not hesitate to use any of Jeff's or Andy's favorites or the Zwickey Deltas on anything except extremely large or very dangerous game, and some of Jeff's would work well on those animals too.
Allan
My favourite is the STOS 160 grain two blade broadhead. I like its excellent length to width ratio and its very strong construction. :)
Mick
Simmons
I'll be shooting the 150 gr Raz caps this year since converting to carbon shafts... By history I have always used STOS heads & POC's Arrows... :)
i have been using zwikey 2 blade 125 grain eskimo broadheads as long as they keep making them i have found no reason to switch
Zwicky Eskimo for Lo, these many years.......if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Zwickey delta 4blade and Snuffer 145 or 160s.
I have tried alot of different ones. For me, the howard hill head is excellent. also, love the grizzly, zwickey, Magnus 2 and the original bear razorhead. As long as a broadhead spins true and is mounted true, and razor sharp and put in the boiler room. It will do the job.
I have come to really like the Razorcaps....200 grains. Everything I have killed with them has gone down in sight. I also like the 220 grain Phantom. However, going thru some old heads I found a dozen of the old Pearson Switchblades and if they shoot well from my set up I am thinking of using them on this Fall's bear hunt. Bears, in general, seem to go down quickly if shot placement is good. When I found the old heads I just couldn't resist using them so for bear, at least, that is the plan. Moose and deer will see Razorcaps coming at them.
Anything that flies right and makes BIG HOLES! Snuffer 160 first choice.
Big snuffers never let me down.
2-blade: Simmons Interceptors 165 grain glue on
3-blade: Woodsman 125 grain glue on
Either one mounted on tapered cedar!!
Two Blade...Simmons , Magnus I.
Three Blade...Snuffer 145 , Muzzy 125 and woodsman.
4 blade...Bear Razorhead and phantom 125.
Right now...Snuffer 145 and Magnus I.RC
I've treid a lot of different 2-blade heads, but none I like as much as Ace Standards.
Back when I shot 4-blade heads, I had excellent results with Zwickeys: both Eskimos and Deltas.
145 grain Eclipse.
Jack
Ace Express 165 or Zwickey Delta. Lots of good heads out there these days, but I have absolute faith in these two.
I like the Grizzly and Zwickey 125 gr glued on a 135 gr broadhead adapter, I have used Magnus Stinger for years with no problems.Blake
Zwickey Delta 2 blade 135gr. for me... simple and durable.
BOB
I'd have to vote for the Magnus I in a two blade, and Wensel Woodsmans in three.
I would use any 2 blade, 3 blade, 4 blade that is COC, flys perfect, and is Sharp. They all work great as long as I do my part.
WWoodsman , Sliverflames , Abowyer Big,140 gr. -180, 100 gr. insert. marco!
I got in a hurry before...and missed the 's' in the title...and went back and re-read Jeff's post.
My favorite 3 blade is the original Wensel Woodsman....from bunnies to Bison.
And my favorite 2 blade is a WIDE one.
3 blade Razorcap 150 grain 175 grain or 200 grain depending on what weight will tune my arrow of choice.
snuffers and woodsman, for me it has to have three blades.
Love Simmons!
Will be trying WWs this fall.
Photo too big :(
160 gr Snuffer for my 3 Blade
Since '79 its been 2 blade 125 gr Zwickey Eskimos
Also love the 3:1 Ratio Schulz Hunter Heads in 146 grain and the 125 Pearson Deadheads...
125gr magnus 2 blade and the vented 4
My 2 fave's are the big Snuffer 160 and the Wensel Woodsman.....
There's another that I've only been shooting for a couple days now that I'm growing very, very fond of.
I predict when it hits the market a lot of guy will feel the same way :clapper: ;)
Well, I've taken deer with eskimos, old Bears,
Thunderheads, Modocs, MA-3s and my largest, 167" net buck with of all things, a Pearson Switchblade! Not much tip support, but it was razor sharp! The point is...Sharp and flying true! And the KEY word is Confidence in your equipment! That was grilled into me at a young age, during my fishing years.
My brother and me, went to a Fishing Institute, in 1979. and the one thing Bobby Murray, and Billy Murray and the other Pros Stressed, Confidence in you equipment or lure!
Sharp and flying true, is the first step! Good shootin, Steve
My favorite is a Grizz 190...with the adapter they weigh about 220 grains when sharpened. Second place is the Phantom 220 grain.
Claudia
Magnus I 4-blade
2 blade- Ace Standard, Zwickey Eskimo
3 blade- Woodsman, MA-3
4 blade- Zwickey Eskimo, Bear Razorhead
I like two blades. ;)

WOW!!!! I never new there were soooo many broadheads....I thought the only ones made were the Wensel Woodsman :bigsmyl: Oh well...If it ain't broke don't try to fix it right? Never had a problem with them....guess I'll keep using 'em.

Thanks Guru...for leaving everyone hanging...... :help:
Favorite so far is Snuffer/Woodsmans (weight depending on shaft and bow combo.......
Woody, Sweet looking heads! Good shootin, Steve

Tippet 2nd generation single bevel 250 gr
145gr. Eclipse
I hate to be the odd man out but I have been using a STOS 160 with a 100 gr adapter for several years. Before that Magnus 2 blades, grizzleys and bear razor heads before that. Not much difference in any of them in how well they kill. I am stuck on the STOS for now cause I have several dozen of them, they fly perfect for me, sharpen easily and are of reasonable cost.
From consistent success..... my confidence lies deeply in Woodsman heads for deer and 160 Snuffers for turkeys.
I like'em all! That's why I collect them!
Magnus Snuffer SS 125 gr.
Low profile, accurate, made by Kansas-boys.
160 grain STOS, followed by 125 grain Magnus glue-on 2-blade. I suppose that whatever you used that you had good success with earns its place as your favourite.
Bear Razorheads, although I admit to having picked up a couple packages of Eclipses last year. Haven't shot them at anything alive yet. It will be a long time before I rank anything above the Bears though.
Bear razorheads are my favorite but I'd say any broadhead covered in lung blood comes first.
I'll see Guru at the Muzzy and see if I can get him to spill the beans.
WWs
This is my own design.
Condor Broadhead

Works well for me.
Zwickey Black diamond four blade, with 1964 bear heads a close second.
Stinger 150 4 blade...
I've always liked Bear Razorheads but I'm trying Zwickey Delta 2 blade and No Mercy single bevel this year.
In the 60s we did some wacky things with our Razorheads. One trick was to glue pieces of Shick injector blades to the bleeders. Another was to crimp a whole Shick injector blade perpendicular to the slot in lieu of the bleeder. Both were deadly.
Phantoms.
Man that's a tough one. There are lots of good heads out there, but I'm sold on the 220 gr Muzzy Phantoms.
2 blade... MagnusI without bleeder.
4 blade... Magnus I with bleeder.
3 blade... Magnus I with half a bleeder.
:D
usually ribtek 190's but on my recent trip i tried some new b'heads on our tough Aussie pigs and goats...very very impressed with the 160gn Stos and the 160 gn two blade magnus ... i think i'm sold on either of these two .
cheers
Ben
Got a new favorite - WW 125 grain glue on - because they fly sweet on my POCs, and because I can actually get them sharp.
Also a fan of STOS.
3 Blade - WW
2 Blade - Abowyer Brown Bear
2 Blades for me , Aboyer Brown Bear fast becoming a favorite but those Interceptors have been very good to me for a long time .
That said the only thing I've seen tougher than my Interceptors is those darn Basalt rocks in Austrailia .
Glad there's mostly sand where I hunt , Fred
Ive settled on the STOS, zwickey eskimos and eclipse(both 2 and 4 blades) They all seem to fly very well and I have had great blood with all of them. I also have a spot in the quiver for the 220 grain phantoms, Ive only killed 2 animals with them but both were complete pass thrus ans tons of blood.
