Title: Better flight WITH broadheads?
Post by: razorsharptokill on July 22, 2009, 07:49:00 PM
Have you ever noticed better flight after you mounted your broadheads? My arrows seem to wobble less than before, not that it was bad before.

Is it possible that the broadhead actually helps stabilize the arrow from the front as the fletching does from the rear?

I'm using the 160 gr Snuffer on a full length GT 3555 with 100 grains up front, 3 4" parabolic feathers.

No. I think you just happened to hit upon the best spine, length, point weight FOC and fletching combination for YOUR BOW. Not everyone elces.

I have found when you get it right it does and flies flatter without as much point down drop.  If you are off the BH will plane, but when just right the arrow flies like a guided missile.  A BH will not fix a bad tune unless it changes something to make it right.  You must have gotten it right.  It is a beautiful thing.

Makes sense. It is a good thing though!

Well when you say "it does not wobble as much" that makes me think you are not tuned as well as you should be.There should never be any wobble or anything you can see with the naked eye in an arrows flight.Particularly if you plan on hunting. If broadheads fly well and feild points don't you still have tuning issues. jmo

Yep...it seems to work that way for me.

I have at times noticed my BH grouping better than FP. I have written it off as being a result of greater focus.

Any chance your release is impacted by whether you are shooting BH's or not?

Well the thought always enters my mind .."okay this is a broadhead not a fieldpoint" maybe I'm focusing more.
