I am looking for suggestions of boyers that make scaled down bows just for a lady. My wife is wanting a new bow (she currently shoots a White Swan) and I would like something that is just for her. I know Dryad is making the Phoenix but I would like a few more options.
Thanks
Dan
I could help you out with that.

Mike made a bow for my wife and she loves it. Price is right too, check him out.
One word--------- MADDOG ARCHERY!!! (oops two words)
Here's something to think about. I got my wife a DAS recurve. Because of how they are designed you can get superior performance at low weights and short draw lengths. My wife draws 45# @ 26" and shoots a 27" Beman hunting arrow (500 grains) thought bear and deer regularly. The bows are now owned and being sold thru 3Rivers as the DAS Dalaa.
Speaking as a "lady archer" myself, I have no idea what a scaled-down bow would be. Most custom bowyers will make whatever weight you can handle--for most women that will be in the 40-45# range or less, I would imagine--, they will build it for the draw length your wife requires, and they will make the grip a bit narrower if need be. Other than that, there is little difference. I have (and have had over the years) numerous bows from a number of bowyers and that is how it's always worked for me.
I just bought my wife a Wes Wallace Custom Longbow for my wife and she is in love with it. Wes is the nicest guy around, and is a true artisan. Look him up at Wes Wallace Custom Bows.
For the price the Maddog bows cannot be beat. I would highly recommend a Shrew also which can be had in lengths as short as 52 inches and with many options including a Bow Bolt to make a two piece bow, foam cores, carbon backing, exotic hardwood limb veneers and risers, stag limb tips and riser overlays, etc. You can make them as high tech and pretty as you want, but they cost more and there is a year wait. For more money still, I really like the Morrison bows. With the short risers (especially the ILF Mini-14) you can get a short bow for a woman if a short length is part of what you are looking for.
These are just a few good bows. There are many more that would work well, including all the bows others have mentioned. I know your wife will enjoy any nice bow you get for her.
Allan
I will second Allan's comment on the Shrew. Ron and Gregg will make any bow in any weight. My wife got a new one last year and really likes it. Hers is 52" Classic Hunter 28#@24" which is her draw. She does not hunt but enjoys going to shoots with me. But like Allan also said almost any bowyer will make their custom bows in lower poundages to be handled by women.

Thanks for all the suggestions. A Shrew would be nice but I dont think she could wait a year. that and she's not allowed to get one before me!
