I had the privilege to shoot some great bows at the Rod Jenkin's Shooting Clinic. The new RER and the Fox Royal Crown really impressed me. I'd like to see yours if you have either one. Thanks, David

Nice one, Kevin sure makes a beauty of a bow, real shooters as well!
Very pretty bow !!!!
The RER's new design is awesome! Love the grip. I got to shot a couple of them this past weekend.
Wow is that a awesome looking bow!

My most recent of several RER's, an XR that I just traded this summer. Excellent bows! I'm planning on having another.
Anyone have the new one with the longbow limbs? I'd love a closeup of the grip from the back of the bow.
Dang those are good looking bows! Wow!!
The most STUPID thing I ever did was sell my R/C. Hardly a week goes by and I am lementing that stupid decision. The guy who bought it off me has it in his shop here in Melbourne. I have tried every trick imaginable and he won't sell it.
However he won't shoot it either - he said it is so beautiful that it is in the shop for everybocdy to look at.
The worst thing is I contacted Mr King to make me another one and with exchange rate and postage on a full-lenght bow to Australia is going to cost me over 1,000 AUD.
Too expensive so I just have to have fond memories of one of the best bows ever.

joe vt..........that is one of the prettiest bows that I have laid my eyes on. Absolutely beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!
Winterhawk1960
Jedimaster- Great looking bow! What are the woods in it?
Joe that is in my opinion the purtiest bow I have ever seen. :campfire:
My RC is due here at the end of the week, I'll post a picture then
I look forward to see it LBMan. What are the woods you selected? Or is that a surprise? :D
I don't have a R/C yet but I'm saving my nickles. I shot bows from just about every vendor at ETAR a couple years ago and I think the Royal Crown was the "best in show".
My Royal Crown. Bolivian Rosewood/Myrtle riser. Myrtle veneers.

Are the Royal Crowns a cut to center bow? Looks pretty close in that picture Brian.
Joe, Beautiful bow, those limbs are spectacular! Do you have a lighter picture of the riser wood? I've been thinking of Zircote myself.
Eric
I ordered one this weekend. Beautiful bows.

FANTASTIC BOWS Dave and Robert!!!
Deertraks, Nice bow, who did the checkering on the grip ?
Looks like a leather saddle.
That is a piece of beaver tail. That is when I first put it on. Now it's closer to the color of the cocobolo.
Oh heck...might as well show my LX off :)

Nice bow there Rod! Notice the similarity. After I shot your bow at the ATAR last year, I had to have one and I sure liked that coco on your bow. Man you were right about how good these bows shoot and that grip just fits!
Yes, I noticed the similarity :) Kevin didn't like my grip at first and we have a running joke between us, every time someone orders a grip like mine ( he says I'm paying them, just to be right..lol) but he's coming around :biglaugh:
Here is my RER LX

For some more pictures take a look at the RER in stock bow listings on the Prairie Traditions website link below.
WHIP...that is a neat photo!
Loved looking at the RER's this weekend at your booth!

Joe, You just started another argument between me and the boss lady with that Zircote RER ...Now she's watching my every move here on TradGang... :help:
No offense, but I owned a new RER takedown for about 2 weeks and I could hardly stand to look at it as it was so ugly compared to the rest of my custom bows. No thanks.
Well Brady if it was as ugly as the Zircote one On the first page I have an extra Peg in my shop that I'll be happy to hang it on...Well that's where it would be when I ain't out on a date with her... :D
So BD, why did you buy it if you thought it was so ugly?
I guess if a guy says, "no offense", he thinks he can say any offensive thing he wants.
I thought BD's post was just that and off topic.
Here's the original question... "Show your Fox Royal Crowns and RERs!!!!"
BD your post was ugly and offensive and has nothing to do with this post.
I can't show any pics of my RER because Kevin has mine in his shop. He just called me this morning to tell me that my new longbow limbs are done. :bigsmyl:
So now I have a matched set of recurve and longbow limbs for my RER. Love the bow, it's a great shooter!
BD,
I'm not sure how much experience you have with woodcraft, bowyery, or bow design dynamics, but I think you have stepped out over your head.
The craftsmanship of RER is right there with Fox, Robertson, etc. But their performance leads the "top end" pack imo. And thats coming from a loyal Fox man.
Does anyone have the LX with the "Rod Jenkins" grip? Rod had some input in a grip that is slightly flat on the area where the base of the thumb rest-center and right of center for righthanded bow. That is the one I shot and fell in love with. Infact, after shooting that bow I grabbed a wood file and filed a similar flat spot on the grip of the recurve I had just finished! It seems to reference the hand so that there is a direct pressure in line with the string, bow and your hand and bones up your arm. The bow just jumps forward upon conclusion of the shot, in line with the force that is transferred to the arrow. Am I just babbling on, or does this make sense to you guys?
It makes great sense. Deertracks' LX has the Jenkins grip. I shot it several times and loved it.
David, You better not let Norm see this thread!
...shhhhhh! Don't talk so loud! haha I actually showed Norm a recurve I had just finished making. But I had not filed the flat spot into the grip yet. I'd like to hear what he would have to say about that.
Sorry guys- i was out of line. I do apologize.
I do feel really bad about my post. Was having a miserable day and again I really am sorry that I posted that crap. Kevin makes an excellent bow.
Brady
 I hope your day gets better ...God Bless, Keefer's <")))><
With it being over 100 degrees the last few days I've been a bit cranky myself. No ones perfect, but we are forgiven! Good to hear from you BD.
Snag, I have the Rod Jenkins grip on my LX and it is great. You're right the way it's made it lines up the wrist and forearm to get better alinement. Rod can explain it better than I can.
How you doing Alex? I enjoyed meeting and shooting with you. Now this guy has a dream job.
Well BD it was just an opinion and we all have one. No harm done. Yes, maybe off topic but most of us have been guilty of that at one time or another. I am a big RER fan but also admire most bowyers work. Truth is they all make one occasionally that makes me say "what was he thinking?". When I do that I try to remember that to someone else it may be their dream bow. Still makes it ugly to me. If you get a chance take a look at some other RER's in person. I think you'll find something you like. From a performance perspective there's a lot to like.
