My brother Danny was in this week and next for training in Dallas. I went and picked him up at his hotel on Friday and brought him home for the weekend. We got home and he met Kimber and she had supper ready, so we had some great tacos and then we went to the Man Room and picked up a couple of bows and went out back and started shooting targets. I let him try my Brack Non-typical and I shot the bow Kimber got me for our anivesary. That beautiful Cheyene sure does smoke an arrow. The Brack is a great shooter too. We shot for an hour or so and were getting some pretty decent groups.
Saturday, two of my kids and their families came over and Kimber sure did throw a great spread. Some great brisket, baked beans and tater salad and yummy pies and cakes. Had a great visit with the family.
Sunday saw us up at 430 am and headed to Texoma for some striper fishing. We ended up catching 11, put it was tough going. As hot as it has been, had to chase them around all over the place. Still we had a great time and I was sorry to see him go when we dropped him at his hotel.
Sure hope he gets a transfer and gets back stateside soon. We only get to visit every couple of years.
Sorry no pics, just thought I would share the story with our family here.
Glad you had a great weekend honey! I so enjoyed having them all here!
Donald, Kimber and Danny,
I'm thrilled to hear about the great times you had together. I hope Danny can get stationed somewhere close so you can spend lots more time around one another. Life is too short to be away from those you love most of the time. I know, because I have one of my brothers in Switzerland and the other in Oregon while I am here in Oklahoma. It sucks to only see them occasionally.
Shooting a Cheyenne and a Non-Typical and getting to fish for stripers on Texoma alone would make anyone happy, but getting to eat that meal that Kimber fixed with lots of family would really top off the activities.
Congratulations on the time together, and God bless all of you.
Allan
way to go donny. aint it good to have such an awesome family
Sounds like a great time!My brother flew in to see me Friday night on his birthday and was gone on Saturday. We hunt, fish and enjoy bows together.Wish we could live closer together to share the good things in life.Glad you had a memorable time and the striper fishing sounds like a hoot.I like cheyennes too.My brothers gonna have to try my new one with carbonfoam limbs and buy one for himself LOL.
Spending time with your brother can be a damn good time. You never know when you won't be able to again. My brother and I tried to hoist a bowfishing platform into a tree for a treestand this weekend. I'm glad there was no pics or video of that attempt either! Time with family and friends is precious..enjoy.
The boys had a great time together and yes they are twins, and I promise you all at first our 3 little angels (DOGS) thought Danny was Donald and they were more excited to see him them then Donald...but they quickly realized this aint my daddy and then proceeded to spend the weekend throwing their heads back and howling at him.
It was great to finally get to meet my brother in law. He is great! I am so thankful for a BIL like him!
Bubba and Kimber,
Had a great time. Made the training worthwhile, got to be the most boring training I have ever had to endure,LOL.
That Non-Typical is sweet!!!
Kimber, you are a peach. Thanks for the goody bag with the brisket and all, I will at least eat good the rest of the week.
Love ya'll
Danny
