Choices? Robertson, Hummingbird, Or?
I am in the middle of a mid life crisis. I am going to buy a new bow, it is going to be a lot cheaper than one more old Harley.
I want a looker and a shooter both of these bows fit the bill any others?
I am leaning Robertson I had one that was given to my son to use on a hunt a year ago the bow is now with him in IRAQ. He shoots it better than I do any way so I will never ask for it back, besides he is an OK kid.
Well, Robertson, Hummingbird, OR?
Thanks DD
Both excellent bows-hard choice.
Check out Morrison, if you want a looker and a shooter Bob sure can give you both.
"Morrison" I can't believe you threw Bobs bows into the mix. Well since you started it I will second That choice.I have a carbon/foam core Cheyenne sitting in my lap right now its the prettiest, fastest, and quietest recurve I have ever owned. I ordered a second set of the new Cheyenne longbow limbs for my riser also.
Border. Longbow or recurve. Not my opinion, it's a fact! :D
I have forgot to add the Morrison's I like Bobs bows and have had a couple. The Border made me look twice.

Never owned, or shot a Robertson, but have owned a couple Hummingbirds. I had a one-piece alphamale longbow that Big Striper now owns (I shoulda kept it) 8*)......and just acquired a three-piece Kingfisher recurve from the classifieds here. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with one of Ben's bows. Smooth, hard hitting, a pleasure to shoot, and isn't hard on the eyes either. You'll never find a nicer guy to deal with than Ben either.....he stands behind his work.

Brandon very nice bow you are not making a shameless plug at all in my mind just a suggestion.
Don, Ben sent my some photos a bit ago of a few bows he has in stock. Oh boy howdy there is one at the specs I am lookng for that is way beyond pretty.
I am still thinking one more Robertson though just to replace the one my son has.

check out dryad bows and look at the new orion, or if you like short recurves check out black mountain bows
I recently aquired a Morrison Shawnee Dakota longbow from a fellow Tradganger. It has leaped to the top of the list for me. It's so smooth and quiet as well. I previously shot a recurve better than a longbow, but this Morrison shoots great for me.
How about a predator.There sweetbows.

Robertson all the way, functional works of art.
I bought a trybal styk from Robertson one month ago. This is my second one of his and must say he makes a very good product. The bow fits in my hand nicely and is very quiet. I have three other bowyers bows and although nice bows, they dont shoot like the Robertson. Its only my opinion.
Whisperstick, Mohawk.
I second Pasquinell, Robertson's bows are the finest I have ever shot (not to take away from any of the other fine bowyers out there) but Dick is a real artist when it comes to his bows.
never shot a blacktail bow but I think they one of the prettiest.
Blacktail definately for looks and I hear they shoot really well.
I have the "bug" for a new Zipper SXT, I got to handle and shoot one at ATAR. It is a sweet shooting and good looking bow. I'm selling some stuff now to pay for it!
Bill is a super nice guy to deal with also.

I like Hummingbirds thet are smooth accurate and fast. They are one of the best built bows out there.LCH
Doug, In my opinion no one gives you a better total package than you get with Dan Toelke's bows(www.montanabows.com). He has made a reputation mostly with his r/d "Whip" longbows but I have had a t.d. recurve and still own a D longbow and one of his new 1 pc. recuves, the Chinook. All have been superbly made of beautiful wood, they are fast, stable, forgiving and QUIET! You will never deal with a better guy and I don't know how he does it but his delivery time is still only a few weeks. These are a few pictures I found, a pr. of Whips, Cocobolo/Yew & Bocote/Fiddleback Myrtlewood and my Chinook,Cocobolo/Juniper.

Ben sent some Photos of 2 Hummingbirds that are very Purdy. There is a bow on the Robertson site that is a pure temptation. I have looked at the Tolke bows thery are very nice, RER has some fine sticks as well. Rose Oak also has some very fine bows available.
I just spoke with my brother inlaw from Casper WY I might just end up with one more Pronghorn.
I have and have had several High $$$ re-curves and long bows. However, since "scoring" my Shawnee/Dakota from Bob Walker, My "early" Morrison T/D RC from Donald Rowan, and my Cheyenne "A" riser with "B" RC limbs, [ have new Carbon/Foam dakota "D" limbs on order]. My Search is over. Bob makes the "highest quality", "Best Preforming" bow I have ever had the pleasure of owning and shooting. Definately knows how to apply the word "CUSTOM" to each and every bow I have ever encountered from his shop. :wavey: :jumper:
Great bows! Make sure you check out rerbows.com
Good Luck!
