Well today,I picked up my bow and could not stop shooting. So I just stopped and if I had to guess how many i shot it would between 400-500 arrows. So that is what brings up my question. What is most amount of arrows you have shot in a day?
Over 1000
Don't know the number, but way too many.
I have shot double field rounds plus practice, and that would be a tad over 250 I would say. If you are shooting 1000 arrows in one day, you are just flingin' 700 of them 8^). Shooting an arrow every minute for ten straight hours would only be 600. And that would be not stopping for lunch or pee break. You must be using that 5 hour energy drink or something. :saywhat:
over 1000??? :saywhat: Were you trying to set a record?
My max has only been 250 shot in a day from a 55# bow. These days I get pooped when I shoot 100.
It's heck getting old. :(
Im only 16 i can shoot all day. :biglaugh:
Well son, that explains it. :bigsmyl: However, you may want to cut back to 850 and make more selective shots. Glad to see you young folks into traditional archery. Shoot as many as you like.
I dont normally shoot that many, my uncle has a bow shop and sometimes ill go there and shoot all day.
lucky you man.. im 14 gonna be 15 and i dont have any arrows left after shooting them into what i thought would be a brilliant target.. a solid board of pulp wood. hah.
When i took up trad archery 3 months ago i would shoot 350-400 arrows everyday. I found myself not concentrating at all so now i shoot 40-50 quality shots and my groups have gotten really tight.
No more than 150 or so. That's not often, either. I've got a 60-100 shot/day habit, currently.
eight targets in my woods......shoot 6 arrows at each, five times round....equals 240 arrows most days.....mainly shoot bw sb 80#@28 or brack quest 72#@28
I shoot every day, one arrow at a time till i get tired and start getting sloppy.
ATAR last weekend and about 200 shots. Small fry to some of you guys! :notworthy:
I'm going to shoot two 3D's this weekend. One on Sat in Timmins Ont.(Canada) and the next day in my area of New Liskard (2 hours from Timmins).
I might go two to three days sometimes without shooting an arrow, due to a bummed shoulder but when things are feeling good it could be 100 more or less depennding on the arm.
The only reason I mention the 3D's is cause my 14 year old daughter is coming to the one in Timmins(to take pics) but her longbow is in the mail and my 10 year old son is going to shoot with me in Liskard the next day(with an old Bear fiberglass).Trust me if it was not for the kids I would not shoot that many arrows in two days .Reason one is may shoulder will hurt and I have a lot of block to lay and number two is I can't afford all the arrows I'm about to lose :smileystooges:
Don't know. I know that I shot over 300 already with the compound, but I think somewhere around 250 with the trad bow would probably be tops. Just not sure.
13,752 . . . . I think. Maybe not. I lost count after 25. It sure SEEMED like 13,000 or more.

Russ Hogoerhyde was often known to shoot a 1000 arrows in a day. It helped him to win several national tournaments...
Right now I am shooting 100 to 150 every day after work. I just got a new longbow after 20 years of compound hunting and I am working on form to be ready for hunting season.
The most shot, 300 in one day.
enough to make the blisters from that session to pop in my eye on release lol
A typical shooting session during a summer evening will be around 150-200 shots. On a weekend I might shoot 400 or so.
George, I don't start flinging 'til around 401 so I stop there. ;)
Let's see. If I cyphered this rightly... a fast shooter will shoot one every 10-15 seconds or so. Most don't. At 15 seconds per, there are 4 shot per minute. 1,000 divided by 4 is 250 so it takes 250 minutes to launch all the arrows.
250 divided by 60 (minutes) is 4.1666 (hours) of constant shooting at the rate of 4 per minute. That time does not include walking down to the target (and back) to collect your arrows.
I shoot a lot in my basement but I guess I don't shoot 1,000 a day. I better stick with " lost track at 25".

I normally shoot about 1 or 2 dozen a day.
I only shoot a 43 lb bow and I was flat worn out after shooting about 200-300 arrows at a Geauga Bowman's shoot 2 years ago. It took us all day to get to that point, with lunch and dinner in there somewhere too. We shot until near dark that day!
Some of you all must be way more committed than me.

1 arrow @ a time, no more then 50 a day! I start getting sloppy and not concentrating. I've noticed my first 4 or 5 tend to be the best ones.
I keep written records of my scheduled practices at home. I also use a counter. I usually shoot between 100 to 150 (and when you concentrate on each shot that is a lot).
When I practice outside or stump shoot I don't count but probably only rarely go over that.
Quality is more important than quantity, that being said, some might think that I am shooting too much.
I haven't kept count, but it was probably the day I almost ruined my shoulder and couldn't shoot at all for a month. Marathoning is not a good idea. At the time I was shooting a hundred or so a day.
I usually shoot four arrows. Five fit in my Selway, but four seems like enough.
I shoot these same four arrows over and over. I don't think I want to lug around hundreds of arrows.
If you hit the target, one is enough.
Don't know truly?? definantly not over 1000? that is awesome!
I go till I fell myself giving out a little and I am not holding liek I should, form is failing. Then I feel it is ime to slack off.

Not very many, but I always shoot one at a time to prevent all the robinhood's.
