Title: Footing GT traditional 1535
Post by: mancole5 on July 16, 2009, 03:17:00 PM
Anybody know for sure what size?  It is said that 2117 fits the gt 3555.  The 3555 has outer diameter = .297.  The 1535 has outer diameter = .296.

Any knowledge is appreciated,

Ryan

I am just starting to play around with footing carbons, but I would say a 2114 will fit better.
2114 is .300 id, where as a 2117 is .294 id.
I'm sure a few thousands of an inch can be sanded from the carbon.

I initially was thinking of using a 2113 shaft. After reading on here that the 2117 fits a 3555, it got me thinking that I may be wrong.  2117 is a lot easier to find!

Also...in Pac's video he was footing a heritage 150= od of .300 with a 2117 = id.294    I realize that he sanded the shaft down, which I don't mind doing.

I used 2117 for mine and with the epoxy between the two I'd say it fits perfect.

i've found that a 2117 fits a 55/75 perfectly.

Ryan if you have a 2117 shaft just try it over the 15/35.A .001 difference is nothing.Glue room if you will.  ;)
