While collecting our arrows from the target in our backyard yesterday, my brilliant brother decided it would be fun to shoot his way back toward the house. he took several shots into the fallen over deer(look in bottom picture), and on the last one the arrow glanced off the side and flew straight into the side of our pool. thats what he looked like. needless to say, i broke out my camera!
WOW.some peole are so smart. :knothead:
hope you enjoy the pics!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't this belong on the post "Playing Dirty Pool?"
Hey, at least it was a short tracking job! :bigsmyl:
So... to get that deep of penitration was it a 2 blade or three blade head? Maybe a single bevel? No pass through though!
OkKeith
THAT JUST SUCKS and "We're not laughing with him we're laughing AT him"
BUMMER! At least it's just the Pool that took the direct hit!!!!!! I'm surprised you did see that coming with your targets being so close to the pool! Doah!
I'd be thankful it wasn't a pass-thru! :knothead:
Looks like you got the smarts in the family.......
Hmmm, that's like when you miss the buck and hit the doe behind, on one of those "Choose the right target" setups, where you lose points if you choose wrong, Ian. Reminds me of when I shot at a racoon in my yard one summer that turned out to be (as I feared) a rabid one. He was getting water, in mid-day, out of one of the fish ponds we had back then. The first shot I missed, just over his back, in my rush to nail him - went right through the far side of the poly material pool. Needless to say it was my repair job to do - LOL. Stinks, huh, Luke - but it is fraught with important lessons - LOL.
Missed you guys and your Dad, Joe at ATAR. Hopefully next year.
I'm sorry but that's pretty funny!
That falls into the "It's only funny cause I don't know him" category.
Ha Ha nice. Good thing they make patch kits for those.
Thats is pretty funny, sorry about the pool though.
Impressive!!!!!! I keep wondering when I am going to do that to my basement door, when I am shooting down the stairs of my home.
There's a hole in the doughboy, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There's a hole in the doughboy, dear Liza a hole...
:clapper:
Had to look that one up, Juan, so I got two chuckles out of this thread. Thanks!
Killdeer~missed out on a lot of kid songs. :)
Great Penetration!!
"Killdeer~missed out on a lot of kid songs."
Is that why you're a "Wabbit Swayer?" (Please tell my you've heard Elmer Fudd sing Rabbit Slayer!!) Classic stuff right thar!
GOT CARP!
I bet mom wasn't very happy about it. You gotta shoot something, why not a pool. See you guys soon. Don
ive heard of shootin the breeze but.... :biglaugh:
I stopped shooting in my yard when I had a pool put in and I was shooting with the pool to my back.Momma would do me in if I shot that well.
Here's what happened 3 days ago when I didn't pay attention to the Highway Dept. truck parked on the other side of my stockade fence. I think that they were all bowhunters at the Hwy. Dept. because they just laughed at me. Everybody thinks its funny but me! :knothead:

Looks like he hit a artery. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I'm impressed with the penetration as others are. But, my question is has anyone besides me noticed that "Blood Trail" gushing out of there.?? Got to get some of those heads :wavey:
Tony,
That pool looked pretty clean to me, so no "dirty pool".
Brian,
If you'd been usin a single bevel, you'd have gotten a complete pass thru, "s" shape cut and all.
I have a brother just like that... I've had to deal with him for over 40 years.LOL Yes, it is a life sentance..!!
Remember even a "brilliant" brother will always be there for you when you need him.
Thanks for sharing.. Too funny!!
John III
Oh look at it this way.. Most of life's lesson are learned from mistakes.. Hopefully most of them are someone else's' that you profit from.
That way you don't look as stupid as he does.

I shot with these brothers and their Dad at Htckory (NC State shoot) this year and they are real pleasures to be around and shoot with - as long as you don't have an investment in "the Pool" - :archer:
as you csan see in the pics the blood trail was pretty big! :biglaugh:
I dont like Ford's anyhow...Hah
i learned my lessen sure enough; we were lucky and could patch the hole, but I still learned my lesson!!! :knothead:
Too bad it wasn't a mechanical broadhead, it would have probably bounced out.LOL!
That sucks though. I hope the repair holds.
My list includes and is not limited to:
1) Parents garage door widow, as a kid.
2) Parents aluminum garden shed, as a kid.
3) My downspout on the house, as an adult.
4) A cabinet door in my garage, as an adult.
I suppose this is not so bad for 33 years that I have been shooting. I always shoot with my back to the swimming pool, don't want to have to fix that one. Now I'll will just have to see if the curse will continue with my 7 year old son. LOL
I once shot a hole through my house with an unloaded .357 mag. scared the crap out of me. Hope to see you McMillians soon and good luck on the bow project. Don
buddy of mine let one go while practising in the house.........into the frig/freezer.
Wife was not impressed.
"Hold my beer. Watch this"
did it make P&Y,and what did it score.
This stuff is toooooo funny! Can't make it up!
Glad it was "your pool" and not the fella's next door.
... mike ...
MMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM !!!!!
IAN'S SHOOTING MY ARROWS AGAIN !!!!!!
You could tell everyone he comes from a shallow gene pool for sure! Then again he`s your brother so that would put you in the same pool. :knothead: Just be thankful mom or the kids were not standing in pool watching.
