Anybody interested in building me a 3 ply dacron bowstring for my 94# Howard Hill longbow?
Thanks.
justin
Check the classifieds there are a few string makers in there. I got one that way and it is very nicely made.
oliverstacy made me 2 strings for St. Jude donation and they were great.
It's not hard to make them. Check here for the tutorial on a string jig. You just need a 1by4 or 2b4 and some nails to make one. Artifical sinew is $8 a roll and makes great bowstrings. The breaking strength of the artifical sinew is #70 so I would use 8 or 9 strands.

Thanks...I haven't made a three bundle yet, I think that is what he is asking for. I have made about 40+ strings in the last 14 days or so.
I'd build a two bundle if I knew how many strands were needed. I'm assuming you'd need close to 20 strands or more of Dacron.
I'm also assuming the bow is not FF approved, if it were a 14-18 strand would be good.
