I was wondering what everyone thought about the dryad orion bows. I have been trying to decide between a Bob Lee and a Dryad. I am wanting a 3 piece takedown bow. I am currently shooting a Blackwidow sax and being that I hog hunt alot I am wanting a lighter bow to carry around but I am not real found of 1 piece bows.
Thanks for any comments or suggestions!
Had a Dryad Orion recurve that I was a real screamer. In the top 2-3 I've shot as far as speed goes (and that includes carbon and foam bows). My Bob Lee was not as fast but was a real pleasure to shoot also. It was a little bigger and bulkier but that was with the "long" riser. Have not tried the new short riser Lee. You will be alright either way.
I have a new Bob Lee 'short riser' takedown longbow and love it. it's gonna be really hard to beat dealing with someone that's been in business for over 50 years. customer service with Bob and Rob Lee is amazing. when they tell you your bow is gonna be there at a given time you'd better get your arrows out cause it will be there and exactly like you ordered it.
best of luck either way :archer:
I own an Orion recurve, and it is a real shooter
I'd say your best bet would be try to shoot both and decide from there...both good bows...
I have an Orion as well and its a looker shooter and a screamer. Its also really lightweight and packs one heck of a punch.

I had an Orion and an Oracle. I just couldn't get used to the grip. A little to much palm swell for me, but they are shooters.
Had the Orion Recurve "Hope" for the month of June. It really spits the arrows out. Look at the Hope and Faith thread up top for a righty and a lefty for this year.
i had an orion with longbow limbs.i wasn't impressed with the fit and finish.
I love my Orion, I am having Mike and Jason make longbow limbs for mine as we speak. Best recurve I have owned. Fit and finish is as good as it gets with any Dryad bow.
I HAD ONE WITH LONGBOW LIMBS, SUPER BOW BUT THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM WANTED IT BACK SO I SOLD IT BACK TO HIM. I WILL PROBABLY BUY A NEW ONE AT DENTON HILL.
if white streaks on the limbs are good, then mine had good fit and finish to.
if you use clear glass you can get streaks because of the glass. Nothing a bowyer can do about it.

he can cut the price or make a new one.
my dryad orion longbow is THE BEST SHOOTING LONGBOW I HAVE SHOT its extreemly light wieght, points really well and the grip feels great, saving up right now for a set of recurve limbs
Thanks guys for all the comments, I wish someone lived closed to me in Ga so I could try one out.
I can't say enough good about my Dryad Orion! It is simply the best bow I've ever shot. I've just recently ordered a second set of limbs for mine!
I shot this Robin Hood with it last month. It's a looker as well as a shooter!

You can't go wrong with any Dryad Bow, but the Orion is special. It combines speed with great looks all in a take down bow. As a plus dealing with Mike and Jason can not be beat. They are special people who will stay with you through every step of the buying experience. They are there to help you even after the buy. You just can't beat the bow are the people.
Could not be more pleased with my Orion.. Beautiful and performs even better.. My "go to" bow for this coming season.

Pretty bow, how much does your bow weigh?
