Hey folks. I have to tell you how excited I am. Some of you know I had a custom Black Creek Banshee made for me out of a piece of rosewood my Dad gave me last year. I continued that line of thought with a custom Masson knife out of the same piece of rosewood which was delivered to me this spring. What was left over from the bow and the knife I sent to my Dad and had him turn me a grunt call out of what was left of the block.
I met my Dad yesterday to pick up the call. He came up to Maryland from his recent move to North Carolina to visit with me and gave me the call. My Dad is the best. He even bought me a nice brisket BBQ for lunch. (Dad's are great ain't they)
What I have now is the Morado hunting rig. My goal is to complete the circle. Grunt one in, take it with the bow, and dress it with the knife. I figure if I set my goals high, I should have a great season.
Maybe now I can craft a keychain out of the remaining small piece and use it to drive myself to my hunting grounds. Might even have enough left to make a toothpick so I can pick my teeth afterwords. (man, can I dream or what?)
This is ALL from the same block of wood. He purchased the block before it was restricted (since lifted) at McFarland's Mill in Winchester, VA. which we visited on his trip up here.

If you are interested, I'll have it all at Denton Hill. I'll be the really proud guy showing it off.
That is too cool and some beautiful work! Good luck with your quest to complete the cirle. :archer:
very nice! yeah dad's are awesome....
good looking set Jim. Your dad makes some dandy calls. I ordered one for my brother in law and was hopeing to get a matching one for myself. but he said it was his last Cocobola one because he was allergic or something.
Anyway guys these calls are the best, they sound amazing.
