I see several of you are using the roll on arrow wraps on your wood arrows. Do you have to do anything to prep the arrow before you roll the wrap on? Also, do you any problems with the wrap, or fletchings coming off? Thanks.

I have done lots of arrows with wraps. All I do is wipe the shaft off with a clean rag and apply the wrap. I use fletch tape and have never had a problem with them staying on. I apply a drop of glue on the front and back of each fletch.

Do you seal the shafts with anything before hand? I would think that the somewhat porus material the shafts are made of would cause problems without somesort of sealer to "smooth out" the surface.

Don't Know anything about carbons but on woodies all mine are finished with sealer, roll on the wraps and your ready to go with fletching them up!!

I made several dozen cedars with wraps...I sealed them first once dried wiped them down then rolled on wraps. Fletch taped the feathers on followed with a dot of glue on the ends...I have found arrows weeks later that were buried in the ground and arrows that have sat out for nights ontop of nights in the rain and they still held up great.

Just go to Onestringer's web site and follow his directions. Clean and prep with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Lay them stickey side up on a neoprene mouse pad, line them up and roll em on.

I use wraps on all my carbons, I wipe the bare shaft with alcohol, let dry then put the wrap on, it will stay on dont worry, in fact to get it off you run it under hot water to soften it and it peels right off, as far as fletching goes, the feathers or vanes stick to the wrap extremely well, better than a bare shaft, and they dry to the wrap alot faster as well, put a little drop of glue on the front of the feather and in the back for extra protection. They will not come off!!!!

I've used wraps now on both aluminum and carbons and have had no problems with either wraps or fletching turning loose. In my case I've done no pre-preparations. Even Robin Hooded one of the carbon arrows. The wrap even stayed on the split sections.
