Lately, as in the last 3 weeks or so, I've been gettin hammered by my string. :scared: I take one on the wrist. :eek: I get hit on that big tendon on your wrist right under the wrist bone. Every time I get hit, it's always the same spot.
What am I doin wrong to get popped? :confused: I don't need a bruise there any more.... :help:
1st thing I would do is check your brace height. If it wasn't hitting before it is possible that your string has stretched some and the brace height has changed. if that is the case it is an easy fix. Just twist your string until it is back to the original brace height that didn't bite.
I have a long bow with a dacron string. When I get popped on the wrist that is the first thing I check and so far it has always been the culprit.
If the brace height is the same I'm not sure what to tell you.
Has your string stretched and lowered your brace height?
Is your grip constant and your elbow bent?
Also make sure you are not torquing your bow when you shoot.

I'll give the old brace height a try and see. I'm thinkin it might be that I'm torquing the bow too.
Turn your chest towards the target a little more. Helped me a ton when I switched from a recurve to a longbow. :thumbsup:
To refrain from torque on the bow, practice drawing your bow with an opened hand, then gently close your fingers around the riser. I was able to find that "sweet spot" in my palm where the bow fits the best.
I'm goin to check the brace height first thing....problem is that I've forgoten what it supposed to be! :scared:
I'm thinkin like 7.5 or 7.25.
I'm shootin a Bear Grizzly 58" 50# @28.

I would go 7.5-8" and also make sure your not overdrawing your bow causing you to have wrong hand placement in your grip. I had the same problem when I went from a recurve to a longbow for some weird reason.
