The woods don't show as well as they do in person of course. The riser is snakewood with wenge. The wenge is awesome! It is kind of a brown burgundy that really looks great with the darker colors in the snakewood. The lacewood on the limbs is kind of irredecent. The tips are wenge and snakewood. The front overlay on the riser is snakewood too. It is 53#@28" and shoots like a dream...smooth and accurate. I'm in love! haha  I threw in some pictures of some of Norm's shop....he said it was messy. But, hey, it's a shop and he's been working! It's always fun to get to talk with Norm about bows and hunting and stuff. He is a great guy. The guy with Norm in his office talking about some of the heads on the wall is Steve. He is a friend of Norm's and the man who has so generously allowed me to build a recurve in his shop. He is the Pres. of our trad. archery club. It has been fun getting to know him and spend some time building bows together.    Now, I might have to sell 2 Blacktails to make room for this one! But which ones??????  :D  Steve said bows are like children, once you have them you can never get rid of them!  :biglaugh:

When Norm handed it to me that checkered grip slid into my hand and just felt like it was meant to be! Perfect fit!

Nice!, I've been waiting for yours to get done so you could post the pics.  Norm's usual outstanding craftsmanship.  Almost makes me want to send in a down payment for another one. Oops, let me make sure my wife isn't looking over my shoulder.

I had to go in and check to see if this bow was REALLY here or if I was actually dreaming! haha

Burnsie, haha, I told my wife I had a new bow and she just shook her head and laughed! then she looks at me and says, "Aren't you building a recurve?"....Well, yes, but...haha When I showed it to her she had to agree it was one special bow.

Sweet Snag! Norm's Snakebit has always stood at the top of my bow wish list. A buddy of mine picked one up along the way but couldn't get the limbs working as it is a 64" TD and he has a 26.5" draw. I have a 29" draw on most days and we worked out a deal. It is everything I ever dreamed of in a bow. They got the looks and performance that place them in the upper tier of anything I have ever had the pleasure to shoot. She will turn some heads if you tote her to some shoots. I'm a blessed man as I also have a woman who retains the same qualities.

Enjoy! Good stuff!

Jerry

That pic came out pretty good snag.. but guys.. you wouldn't believe this thing when the sun hits it. That is some beautiful wood used for the best thing wood could aspire to be

I agree Okie. When the sunlight hits the wenge it really has depth and the irradescence of the lacewood is pretty cool. The snakewood is great all the time! haha I think I am liking the one-piece a little better than the TDs at this time. I don't know if because it is a lighter bow that I am holding better throw the shot or what.

WWB, I'm building a 62" recurve. It's a design off the original Red Wing Hunters. I've got pics of it on the Bowyer section if you wanted to look at it.
