Title: number of strands for string for vintage bear
Post by: wasapt on June 29, 2009, 12:07:00 AM
Just curious what the usual line of thinking is for the number of strands of string to use on the vitage Bear bows, '70 Super Kodiak, '59 Kodiak, 63 Kodiak, 70 Bear custom take down  ect... Any thoughts appreciated.

I use 12 strands of B50 for all my vintage Bears

Try a 12 strand endless too.

Using b-50 2 times bow weight /10 so for 50# you would use 10strands and pad to 12 or 14.

I use 14 strands of B50 for bows up to 60#,I use 12 strands for under 50#.I also like to spin up an endless loop string for my dacron bows, just my personal preference.

I use 12 strands of B50 for mine (~60# @30").  The 10 strand strings made me nervous for some reason, but felt good on the bow.

Bjorn, where are the rest of 'em?  :D
